i bought a 1994 6.5 L turbo diesel k2500 a couple weeks ago, im having a problem with stalling, heres whats happened

started in in the morning, drove to work, when i was leaving it started but stalled after a few seconds, this happened 3 times, went to go find some help, when we came back it wouldn't turn over, called BCAA, he came and hit my starter solenoid with a hammer and it started fine, drove it home and parked it.

next morning it started with some pumps of the pedal, kept the engine at about 2000 rpm for about 3-4 minutes, let it idle at about 700 and after a few minute it died, then it dosent restart, just cranks over and over. i have no idea what it could be, i dont know much about whats been done because i just got it,

the PMD and FSD have been relocated to the top of the intake gasket, i dont know how long ago though, theres a fuel filter on the fuel line which when i was talking to a mechanic he said "there isnt supposed to be a fuel filter in the line for a diesel only gas" i have a feeling my truck has a fuel filter where the lift pump goes but im not 100%

can someone help me? got the truck fo cheap so i dont want to spend a lot to get it fixed, just enough so its running and i can sell it

any help would be great,

thanks

The lift pump on these trucks look like a gassers fuel filter. It just has 2 wires coming off of it. On top of the intake is no better then on the pump itself, I'm no expert but it sure sounds to me like it's the PMD to me.

On the coolant cross over there is a "T" valve, fish the fuel line up and put it in a clear bottle, open the "T" when it's running, there should be a good stream of fuel.

On the top of the IP is a 1/4" fuel line that goes to a steel line, this is the return line. Get a piece of clear hose and put it on there and look for bubbles. It could be drawing air in.

x2 PMD is also suspect
