On the other site someone was talking about a diferent intake for the 6.5 does anyone on this site know what they were talking about? I've done a Google search and didn't find anything.:mad2:

Peninsular makes a different upper intake...I have one in the basement somewhere....makes it easier to run an ATA IC I suppose (I just modified my upper to work)...

On that other site, were they taliking about using 6.2 to replace a 6.5?I think I read it and they were referring to the non turbo military intake

One member was talking about building a complete intake assembly from the intake runners up. Leo

May I know why you want to mod your intake?

The reason you cannot google is because it is not the most common mod for 6.5. Unless intercooler mod or "S" vin mod to "F". I am not sure if there is any performance gain from it. If there is, I have not seen anybody did a write up about it.

Changing the intake won't do anything. You have a 3500 which means you probably already have a "F"(non egr). Not the same as gasser. These engines are turbo charged. Changing the waste gate will do more than any intake swap.

Like Aces said, we're turbo'd, which means constant pressure. I would think some gains could be had by gasket matching and some port work. Not much gains, but some.

My profession tells me that a smooth wall and rounded corners will flow better than the "bumps" left from casting and the hard corners at the transition from the upper plenum to the intake manifold. Laminar flow vs. Turbulent flow. Might make some difference.

I've called a couple of diesel shops by me (ford no less) and the guy told me flat out, polishing does make a difference. Remove any and all imperfections, he said. Again, not sure just how much benefits we'll see.
