So I read that a lot of folks were swapping the 6.5 head gaskets on their engines when turboing them. I pulled my heads off, and bought some 6.5 head gaskets, as I was matching them up to the heads I noticed that they cover up a couple of the holes where coolant flows through. I got HGs for a 1993 6.5 turbo diesel engine. I am putting them on my 84 6.2. Am I supposed to just cut them out, or what?

One of the very end 'slots' are covered on each side.

FYI my 6.2 turbo has the 6.5 head gaskets from Fel Pro. Ok so far..

The heads have this slot front and rear. The block does not. When installing the gaskets correct side up, the front slots get covered up.

Pretty sure anyway. Searching through my pics, stand by.

Pulled a pic off of ebay.

The arrows should be just a small hole in the gasket, 1/8 thereabouts.

The circles are the slots that I'm referring to.

What holes are covered up on yours?

Well its pouring rain and I was getting frustrated so I pulled the 6.5 heads off my 6.5 motor with a bad bottom end, but brand new topend. Gonna slap them on the 6.2 engine, they already have the 6.5 injectors and everything in them, so should make life a lil easier.
