I am looking into buying a 6.2 and he says it needs new glowplugs, what am I looking to spend for new glow plugs?

He's only asking $2400 for the truck, with 150k on it, 4x4, solid body, good paint, auto tranny with OD...

haha.... still waitin on a definate answer...:) is the truck worth it?

No, your question was "how much for glow plugs".

I answered it, about 10 bucks a piece if you shop wisely.

):h

Is the truck worth it?

Dunno, hard to say without more details or seeing it myself. But, 2400 for a good running 6.5 with only 150,000 seems like a good deal. Remember, I said good running 6.5.

The year of the vehicle also changes the possible issues it may have, kind of important to know to give you an opinion or what to look for/be wary of.

Did he tell you why it needs glowplugs?

If he say s poor starting, it might be valid. If he says poor running, he's probably not quite sure what's wrong with it.

Either way, do the hose in a water bottle trick to get an idea of the engine condition. It's in the "stickies"....

I appreciate the answer... and i wasn't saying i was waiting for a definate answer to the plug q, it was just an additional question :)
Thanks for the quick reply!

If it "Needs" glow plugs how is he starting it now ?? If he is using starting fliud or ever has...Run and run fast. BTW a Mod could move this to the 6.2 section.

x2. Without the glowplugs these engines usually won't start before killing the batteries. If starting fluid/ether has been used like Kenny said, don't just walk away, run away.
