Any advice on mileage vs power considerations. Will both work? Maybe vin is needed to match transmissions and rear end?

The 6.0 mated to a 6 speed slushbox is a nice combination and tows well. With a recent OE tune from GM, the '12 Burb I used got 10 mpg on flatlands with a 3.73 rear.
10 mpg?!!?
Omg !! no way would I have kept that.
You will get better gas mileage out of the 5.7 but they pretty much have the same torque the 6.0 has a little bit more horse power but it will eat you out of gas really quick when your towing or pulling anything I do a lot of towing and pulling with my dad's 5.7 and it does greatAny advice on mileage vs power considerations.
