4L80 VSS

On the 4x4 it only uses one of the tranny sensors (both there though) and then one on the transfer case. Maybe swap one off the 4x4 for the 2 wheel drive truck.

I think the one on the t case is different, but there are two on the tranny of the 4x4 and the one is there but isn't used. swap it with the bad one on the 2 wheel drive.

not really,if the input one reads 0,it automaticly cancels the second one, result,no speedo, and limp mode
if the output one reads 0,that one operates the speedo, result,no speedo either, but limp mode.
Thats what i learned today anyway.

yes it baffles me i got no codes, ses light works ,code 12 flashes.

i had 86 and 87 before i rebuild the tranny.

The TISS should not have anything to do with the DRAC, it bypasses it. The DRAC is just there to convert the analog AC signal to digital DC signals and change frequencies for the speedometer, cruise and antilock brakes on some models.

Little test, unplug the TPS, take it for a spin around the block. It will still shift, but late low throttle and early on high throttle positions, probly no SES light though. See if you can get a code for that.

Got it fixed,all issues solved.

I got two matching OHM sensors from a wrecker.
work like a dandy.

I cut the wires and plugins from the wrecker too, comes in handy if i need to do VSS testing on one of my own trucks.
A CTS plugin is the same as the VSS plugin..

T case VSS wont fit,is a screw in type.

It was the first 4L80 i rebuild,i learned a lot.
