I recently when to GM and had all my fluids and filters changed... Since then (coincidence or not?) my 2004 Duramax had been stalling here and there.. When i first fire it up the odd time it will stall after running for about 15 seconds (twice in 2 weeks) the truck refuses to start until you go to the fuel cap and reprime the pump then it fires up no problem... The breather screw is tight, there is no leaking around the filter and when the filter is Replaced gm is SUPPOSED to pressure test it to make sure everything is sealed... any ideas on what could be the issue?

sure sounds like there is an air leak...

maybe remove the filter and check they didn't mess up either of the o ring's...or left one of the o ring's from the the old filter...

Yep.. or a cracked bleeder screw.

Maybe try and give a little tightening by hand to see if they snugged the fuel filter on. There were also some reports of the WIF sensors cracking. Any fuel leaking out?

there are no signs of leaking fuel anywhere around the cap.. but the screw was replaced as they broke it taking it out(plastic) so there could be a chance that new screw is leaking air in..... is there a chance that that cap has a hairline crack in it? im not sure how strong that material is

I have Gregs stainless bleeder screw...

but I got mine when the idea was still new...before they decided a slot needed to be put in to allow the air to escape when cracked open... :frown2:

Mine does not have a slot either and I have only had it maybe two months.

I guess it was MA that took that design and added a slot?

they really need a slot partially up the threads towards the head to function properly...

Lube Specialist is a slotted knurled head without the slot in the threads

Mine from Greg with the Knurled head has worked well since I bought it in March '05. Can't say as I've ever paid attention if it had a slot or not.

More then likely its the wif sensor. Also there is no pressure test procedure afaik. The only procedure I do it to make sure it starts and runs.

i just had the same problem with a customers truck. i pressure the tank and looed for drips, found none themn i inspected the fuel line i found it to be wet right in front of the tank. there are a bunch of plastic clips that hold the lines together an to the frame. the supply line was rusteed at one of the clips, just enough to suck air. the line kit was $400, instock the partsguy said they sell alot of them.
