2000 K2500 4x4bearing assembly & rotor to 1996 Suburban K2500 4x4

I have a year 2000 bearing assembly. The bolt pattern is the same as the 96 but the rotor goes on the outside like it should.

I do not have the rotor to compare to the 96. If it was deep enough so that the faces of the rotor were in the same plane as the 96 OEM rotors And they were the same outside diameter I could swap the whole assemblies.

Does anybody know if this could be a swap or if there is a different swap option that would work and end up with removable rotors without pulling the whole bearing assembly?

There are brake rotor measurements on rock auto page, that 2000 rotor is almost inch higher then 1996 so it could fit, but i dont know for sure.

What I need is a part number for the 2000 bearing assembly then check the application gudie for which vehicles it was used on and then check the rotors for those applications. Then find out if there is a rotor the correct diameter with the proper offset. I'm gueesing the offset is pretty standard.
The caliper brackets aren't swapable are they?
If you are already swapping all of the parts like I am, It's not such a bad upgrade.

Very interesting swap idea.

The 2000 & 96 bearung assemblies are interchangable. I need a part number for the 2000 2500 silverado 6L gas bearing assembly so I can do an application check. Then I can check the rotors for the applications listed and see if any meet the dimensions needed.

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

On the Rockauto page the AC Delco numbers were numerous. I'm not sure if they were all the same part number for different applications or what.

Yes but are they interchangable?

I'm not sure.

I thought I'd throw some pictures up so people could see what everyone was talking about. From the pictures, they look pretty close. We won't know for sure until someone mocks up a set and checks the dimensions.

BTW, those pictures were from NAPA online.

I think that would be worth a try. I'm wishing I would have held off ordering the new bearing assemblies now. I had the one 2000 bearing assembly already. I wish the guy had a rotor as well when they brought it over.

I'm not Jrsavoie but I'm happy with mine. Get the strap type exhaust clamps so you won't have to cut the pipes if you need to remove them at some time.

Anybody have access to parts for a mock up?

The 2000 hub assembly definately fits. I don't think I have access to it any longer to try a rotor - at least not easy access - it's 40 miles away.

Do you have application info or a part number for the 2000 rotor shown?

I need to check the steering knuckle part number.

If it's the same then everything should work.

I'm starting on the 98 Suburban now and they brakes are so wore I had trouble stopping in the driveway.

part number is CENTRIC Part # 12066042

CAn you find the application information for the steering knuckle part number?
The where I used to check application info no longer comes up. By the way which site do you check application information on?
I tried finding the part number for the 98 steering knuckle to check application but I'm to tired tonight to continue looking.
Maybe tomorrow or sometime.
