Hello All!!
I am in the Nashville, TN area here, I have been browsing the forum for a while and decided to join and participate a bit. I have been wanting a 4x4 dually k3500 body style for a long time. I like the early 90's body style alot so about 2 years ago I hit up a guy i knew who runs a buy here pay here lot and surfs the auctions frequently. I told him i didnt have a lot of money but also told him what i was wanting in a truck and to keep his eyes peeled for me. He called me about 2 months later and told me to come down and talk to him, I wasnt really expecting he had found a truck but he takes me around back and points to this huge dually 4x4. "Isn't that what ya were wanting" he says. I really couldnt afford it at the time but he worked it out where it was a cheap monthly payment for two years. Well i finally paid it off and since i had a brief period of unemplyment after Dell computer shut down the plant i worked at, i was hesitant to put any money in it just in case i was going to have to sell it before i could get it paid off. Got a new job and finally paid it off so now i would like to start fixing it up. There has been a few issues, First was the PMD. it took me a while of researching and finally figured out my stalling issue was a pmd, replaced the pmd with a stock standyne and a few months later it burned out. So then I heard about the remote mount PMD's and ended up going with one from Heath's Diesel. 600 bucks was like YIKess!! But it has ran great since then. There are a few other issues that I need to address, The major one is the tranny issue. Every couple week's when i am on my way to work. it will go into a limp mode or basicly wont shift and i have to pull over and shut it down then retart and i am good to go for a couple weeks. Hopefully you guys will help me get to the root of that issue. Other things the truck needs badly is brakes, The ac and heater doesnt work, i think it is the climate control switch as it has been wired directly to fusebox. would like to get a new bed liner, nerf bars, and then would like to get some of those slick lookin semi wheels and new tires. From what i can tell it has a 4 inch lift kit on it already but i heard i need a 6 inch lift if i want to go with 22.5 semi wheels. Anyways... another reason i havent joined the forum yet is i did not have any pics of the truck, i got some now and was able to upload one for my profile pic, but had issues uploading some to an album. i resized the pics to requested size format.. still no luck. but glad to be here and btw. this is a great forum with ton's of good info. Cheers!!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I havent had any codes checked as of yet, The truck is at a guys house right now, the front brakes were good but the back breaks had been grabbing so i sent it over for him to do the brakes. he said the axle seals were leaking and the gear oil was causing the breaks to grab. Also he said the pitman arm needs to be replaced and he is getting me a part price. And another scary point... one of the idler arms was a quarter turn from coming off. he was really glad i showed up to have it checked, he said that could have been deadly. he basicly said the front end is shot, so we have some work to do. he did get the blower motor going for me which is cool, but we are going to have to some more investigating on what all the ac/heater system is going to need. I am not rich so it will be a paycheck to paycheck goal set for me, I want this truck fixed up so it will take some time. I will give some updates soon, right now just waiting to hear back from this guy to see how bad it is right now.

Hey guys real quick, This is my 1994 Chevy k3500 4x4 dually - Vin# 1GCHK33F2RJ358397. Does anyone know a website where i can put in that vin number and be able to tell what tranny, rear end, transfer case and rear end front end this truck has. basicly a feature breakdown. I know when i am shopping online for parts and using drop downs i get down to the silverado, vs base and i have no idea.

Update.. Well my friend got the brakes done on my truck. The pitman arm and idler arm were bad so he is doing those today. He is also going to take a look at what all i need to do to get the ac/heater unit working. I will post more soon. I made an album with some pics, but here are a couple.
