Hello!
I live in Alberta, Canada and I am the new owner of a very well maintained 1993 6.5 litre GMC Sierra 3500 dually (diesel). I bought it to haul my bumper pull horse trailer and holiday trailer. The horse trailer's GVWR is 8050 pounds and the travel trailer is 7850 pounds. I love old trucks and I am prepared to put maintenance dollars into keeping this one running well. It has 298,000 kilometers on it. Any suggestions and or advice would be appreciated. Does anyone know the actual weight that this truck can haul?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TTS

A 4" exhaust, gauges and an A Team Turbo will make pulling much easier.

My 3500 is licensed for 30k lbs.

New set of injectors if they haven't been replaced in the last 100,000 miles. new lift pump also, cheaper then a IP. Kennedy diesel sells a good lift pump module. I have two of them and they work great with the lift pump. No more having to worry about the OPS. If you dont have money for a A team turbo then a turbo master is well worth it. Also get a air filter housing from a 1996 and new. I have a 1993 chevy 1 ton dually and love the mechanical IP. Good luck with the truck.

My 93 is licensed for 36,500. You can pull whatever you want just be smart about it.

It should be able to pull those trailers just fine after ATT and general maint
