When my head gasket was bad, I lost more coolant in the winter cold then I did in the summer heat. Be careful not to blow it up, or maybe you should and that might get you out from getting screwed by the dealer. Good luck.
Oh yea, with the truck warmed up, open the little brass screw/valve on top of the thermostat housing and see if air escapes before coolant does. If there is a lot of air in the system, another tell-tale sign of a leaking head gasket. I found out the hard way :rolleyes5:
Also, smell the exhaust and see if it smells sweet. Sweet smells in the exhaust can also point out a leak and that you are burning coolant.
