I bought a used exhaust brake on ebay(first mistake!)..Its the FACTORY cummins brake..anyways, finally got it, and its missing the clamps...not a problem...second the wiring was cut..got it fixed....Now i installed EVERYTHING but the actual brake because my stock downpipe is like 3.5in, and the brake is 4in...I was told this brake is for an 04.5 and newer cummins...Will this still work on my truck?? Can I just take the downpipe from an 04.5 and newer and install it on my truck to use this??? I REALLLLLY want this on my truck and I got it at a decent price(paid a good penny but not the $1800 cummins wants)...Also ive been told at 100,000 miles cummins motor need the valves adjusted, is this true??? Mines got 122,xxx and it rattles a little(more than some ive heard but not as bad as some)...Ive also got a edge mileage max on it.....so dont know if that makes the rattle...Thanks for any help!

Is your truck a manual or an auto?

The Jacobs Brake was designed for the 04.5+ Manuals and '06+ Auto's. If it's a manual, you should be able to switch the downpipe and call it a day.

If it's and auto, you're gonna burn up the TC. The tranny controls weren't designed for an EB. You'd need something like a Pac-Brake that has TC controls or a stand alone tranny controller like ATS or SunCoast.

As for the valves, yes, they are suppossed to be adjusted at 100K.

Ive got the 6spd standard...Thats good if all I gotta do is swap the downpipe!!! Anyone got a used downpipe they wanna sell???? haha thanks!! GOtta get them valves adjusted now!!

I believe I have a downpipe or two at the shop.

I know I have at least two of them, I just can't remember if they're intact or if we cut both of them off at the bottom when we pulled the exhaust.

I'll check tomorrow.

Crap, sorry, I completely forgot this thread.

Yes, I do have a downpipe, it's in the back of the truck now.

Only problem is that I did have to cut it righr before it went into the catalytic converter.

I was saving it for a project on a 6.7, but you're more than welcome to it if you want it, just pay shipping.

I'll snap a picture tomorrow.

SWEET!!! mines missing the catalytic converter so im sure it would prolly work!! Also i gotta adapt it down to my smaller exhaust(mines only 3.5in!!!) I live in 45320 Ohio if you got a round about figure of what it will cost to ship it!!

Damn it!

I've been driving around with that thing in the back of the truck all day and forgot to get ya a picture.

Here's the pics of the down pipe.

It's next to a down pipe from an '04 truck for comparison.....
