00 Crew cab full rebuild (it snowballed)

don't forget to add sound deadening stick on sheets to the cab floor, back wall under the rear window as well as the roof too. even the inside of the firewall. it all will help quiet down in the cab plus provide some extra insulation too.

...I decided to upgrade the rear axle to an aam 10.5 from a GMT 800 to get the disc brakes.
I'm curious what just the rear disc is going to do for the performance
Maybe help a nearly unnoticeable amount on the fuel economy from less friction while not engaged.

Looked into a rear rotor swap when I got the Burb as it needed a fair amount of brake work. The suspension / brake / tire mechanic recommended to stick with the drums due to more meat for stopping power versus the disc. So I stuck with the drums and was Ok with the results. I did upgrade the proportioning valve as the rears hardly got use, but this seems like it is a Burb specific thing and does not effect the pickups. After the proportioning valve upgrade, I was very happy as it made the rears work properly.

I did upgrade the front brakes from the OE GMT400 3/4 ton to OE GMT400 1 ton (solid and cryo treated rotors) which helped with extending the time until the front rotors warped again.

teaching the youngsters how to do things the right way give a lot of happiness there. There's so many things in this world that are lost unless passed down from older generations

don't know why it is but this body line not being on the back of the cab confuses me since it is on the bed as well. talked to the body guy and he thinks he can use a piece of my old cab to add it and make it look right. has any one heard of this being done before. seems to me it would look good to have it.

cannot figure out why only the crew cabs don't have it. the regular cabs and extended cabs do
