    DTC's 34 and 88

All: A while back I posted that I had some DTC issues since reinstalling my engine. I bought and installed a new #5 PMD resistor which fixed part of the problem. Now, I can start the engine and the SES light will be off, but within about 5 minutes it will come on. It always ends up...

ROAD TRIP>>> AGAIN. The continueing adventures of 635 and Paveltolz

If you get a chance, stop in Williams, AZ (just west of Flagstaff). Old school Rt 66 town. Be sure and stop at Rod's Steakhouse for lunch. Neat old diner. Serves some decent beef ribs (or at least they used to).

    DTC Help

NVW, I gladly would but I can't get the SES light to stay off. Even while running, I turned the SES light off with GMTDScan and it popped right back on within about 1 second. Can't do a time set or TDCO set with the SES on.

    DTC Help

All: Just finished rebuilding and installing my engine to include a new IP and remote PMD with cooler - which came with a #9 resistor. It will start quite easily even in the cold (I am in Ohio), however, it white smokes terribly until warm. Also, I have the following three codes that I...

    DS4 Install

All: Putting my engine back together and having a brain freeze... With the timing set at TDC (crank timing mark at 1200 and cam timing mark at 600) where should the IP pin be? If I remember correctly it's 1200 and the pin goes in the elongated hole in the gear. Thanks for your help.

Math Problem and Performance Inquiry - Head Gaskets

All: About to put my engine back together. It will retain it's stock bore, pistons, and deck height. How much would .010 thicker head gaskets affect compression ratio, cylinder volume, and performance? Thanks.

    Trans to Engine Block Bolts

Your were correct...3/8 coarse. Now that the engine is out, I can say it's a 599 block.

    Trans to Engine Block Bolts

Thanks for the info... Not knowing the block number...I'll make an assumption and go with the 3/8 coarse. If it's wrong, I can always exchange them.

    Trans to Engine Block Bolts

Does anybody know off the top of their head what the size and threading is on the Trans to Engine Block Bolts? (I believe they're metric?) I need to buy some bolts for my engine stand. Thanks.

    SS Diesel Camshaft Kit

    Wow, nobody?

    SS Diesel Camshaft Kit

All: Realize the reputation that SS Diesel has WRT injectors, etc. However, seeing as I highly doubt they are grinding their own camshafts, has anyone had any experience with their "Performance Roller Camshaft Kit"? Thanks.

    Cheap 6.2 Engine Opportunity

Understood on the scrap part...it all depends on how "cheap" they turn out to be. I am just getting into the Detroit Diesels, previously had 2 Duramax's and 2 Powerstrokes. I like my 6.5 so far - it's almost like working on an old 350 and much cheaper than my previous Diesels.

    Cheap 6.2 Engine Opportunity

All: I have the opportunity to pick up 3 6.2's for cheap... I would likely part 2 of them out and maybe save one for a future project. What parts are in demand on these? Thanks.

    What's this engine?

I know I'm not much help on your question, but don't it make you a little giddy to see such a clean, shiny, engine...wish I could smell it... I've got the sickness bad...

Injection Pump Timing without OBD Interface

Thanks Leroy, will check it out. Nope, never bought from you before. But probably will.

Injection Pump Timing without OBD Interface

WarWagon - one of the plungers is worn enough to make one of the injector lines pop faster than the others causing terrible idle - sounds almost like a spun bearing - but the bottom end looks fine when opened up. It's not the injector - switched it out and the sound didn't move with the...

Injection Pump Timing without OBD Interface

That's the plan...to order the cable, but I wanted to get the pump in and over with. Thanks.

Injection Pump Timing without OBD Interface

Hi guys: I'll be replacing the injection pump on my truck soon and wondered if it was possible to get it timed correctly without hooking up to the OBD port. I don't have an ALDL cable and really don't want to wait for it to be shipped in... Thanks, y'all,
