06 LBZ - Check Engine Light, Code P0667

My 2nd glow plug failed today. #3 this time. Last one was #6. Back to O'Reilly for parts. My son replace one of the glow plugs when he had this truck. I have heard of something wrong with the controller that causes the GP to fail. What do you all know about that?

    Should I Shim My FPR?

Has anyone here ever done the shim on the fuel rail pressure regulator? I got the code on a trip recently and it limited the speed for a short time and then regained power. The code cleared the next day. The kit costs about $20.00 but I am not sure about me doing the replacement. It looks to be...

06 LBZ - Check Engine Light, Code P0667

Glow plugs are $15.00 at O'Reilly and are very easy to replace. I had mine replaced in 30 minutes. Pulling the fender cover is more work than the glow plug. It doesn't hurt anything to drive it with the glow plug out. The CEL being on is a nuisance. Glad you got it fixed.

Flashers, brake lights and taillights problems

I turn the 4 way flasher or turn signal on and the lights flash but dimly. When I turn on the headlights the flashers go off and the taillight and the side clearance lights (dually) and the clearance lights start flashing. With one turn signal on both taillights and all the clearance lights...

    Internet Explorer 9

I had IE9 and couldn't log in to my bank. I went back to IE8. Had a problem and was going to reload IE8 and it is not available now for Windows 7. I had to reinstall IE9 and I still can't log in to my bank. I reloaded Firefox and use it most of the time now. I do not understand why it takes so...

CB radio any good for a long trip?

Radio Shack sell a Midland with wx channels for $40.00. It is small and easy to mount. Mechant Automotive sells a bracket to mount the antenna at the rear of the front fender. I use my CB to check on conditions or to get local info and where truck stops are located or just to chat with the...

12/3/10 - What type of Cell Phone do you prefer?

I have 550 anytime minutes and it is $59.00 a month. Unlimited nights and weekends and if I call anyone on my free call list it is not charged to my minutes. Texting is charged separate, $.20 per message I think it is.

Never had a problem with mine and neither have my two friends who have them.

12/3/10 - What type of Cell Phone do you prefer?

If you are hard on phones and have trouble hearing the ring or voice level is in adequate try the AT&T Samsung Rugby. It is built to military specs and is by far the most rugged phone I have found. I was always laying down on mine or dropping it, getting it wet. The Samsung is moisture proof and...

    Hour meter resets randomly

Mine has reset at least once, today, and when my son had it must have reset a couple of times. I know the hours and miles didn't jive with each other. Today it went back to 0. I saw it when it had .9 hours on it. Are the hours actually recorded and stored in the computer? If so could they be...

    Hour meter resets randomly

Has anyone had a problem with the hour meter randomly resetting to 0? Is there a tech bulletin or anything on this. On DP there seems to be a lot of guys having issues with this.

    300k miles

That engine will run a million miles. I have 294K on my truck and it uses no oil and compression is still very good. Engine has lots of power. Drive it...it will keep on ticking.

    Got my new LML Dually

I can't imagine it being quieter than the LBZ. I had an LB7 and the LBZ is so quiet it really doesn't sound like a diesel. I didn't realize until I got one how quiet they were.

    300k miles

If you aren't going into the mud don't worry about it. Disc brakes are the way to go and also the higher quality pad or shoes as the case maybe. With drum brakes you will never get the miles that we get on brakes. If you also check it out the pads used on the 2500HD and 3500 is about 3 times as...
