Left front wheel Speed Sensor on 2006 Chevy Silverado

I use a box end wrench and a rubber mallet to break them loose, all you have to do is get the rotor off and find the sensor in the top of the hub. Clean the area before you attempt to take out the screw. There is a socket head cap screw that holds the sensor in, remove it and then gently twist...

Rear axle seals on 2004 2500HD gasser

Anyone have experience with replacing the axle seals ? I ended up going from a straight up brake job all the way to a bare spindle due to the dust shields being rotted off. One of the seals was already bad. I had the seals pressed back into the hubs after I cleaned everything up but I am...

I have done a few of them at work and have always just run another set of cables from Batt 1 to batt 2 up and over the top of the radiator and down the right fender to batt 2.

    anti freeze

I have a filter setup on my 05 but after a ton of research could not find any type of a balancer that can be used with Dexcool. My goal would be to use a need release filter in my setup but the balancer is only compatible with the green coolant.

    anti freeze

I would be interested in seeing the PH and contaminant levels on coolant that old.

    anti freeze

The biggest problem with Dexcool is that it didnt last as long as GM hyped it for. Its part of the ongoing process of GM creating a revenue stream for things they can license, like the new Dexos approved oils.

rear brakes are pissing me off....AGAIN!!!

I have 94k on my truck with the stock pads. The key is to removes the stanless clips from the caliper breacket and clean them and the surface they sit against. I use a silicon brake lube under the clips and on the tabs of the pads to slow the rust. You also need to dry fit the pads before...

    oil filter: which one?

Dont know much about the Amsoil but I can say the Wix is a great oil filter and the AC is a midline product at best anymore. Personally, I run a Baldwin or a Mobil 1 filter.

is the flasher on an 05 Silverado a thermal or electronic ?

The flasher looks just like that one, I doubt I am going to pop for the new one at $50. for asome reason it works fine with my trailer lamps that are LED and my mirrors. I may just try the fronts or the rears on the truck and see what happens.

is the flasher on an 05 Silverado a thermal or electronic ?

I am in the process of converting over to LED on my truck. In order to replace the turn signals I will need to make sure the flasher is electronic since a thermal flasher will not work with LED. I found the flasher unit under the steering panel and it is marked that it is for a trailer pkg...

    Duramax brake fade

They supposedly "fixed" my 99 1/2 ton at the dealer, a year later I removed the left sensor and broke it because it was rusted in so bad. I ended up eating 2 sensors and the time to do the job correctly, best I can tell, the dealer pull the rotor, checked for codes and put some of the zinc spray...

    Duramax brake fade

The front ABS sensors have rust jacked and need to be removed and cleaned. The reason that it wont stop at low speed is due to the sensor losing signal with the tooth wheel and the ABS system dumps pressure from the front brakes since it thinks they are locked up. That year was included in the...

    Truck Down-No start Bad batteries?

It probably just had some oil on the heating coil. My truck is 7 yrs old this month, still got the stock batteries in it, knock on wood.

    Truck Down-No start Bad batteries?

They should be able to hold 12.4v min and around 12.8 when charged. You may have one bad battery and the voltage you are reading is equalizing. The only way to know for sure is to disconnect them and then load test them separately.

    Mobil Delvac Super 1300

A recent article in Four wheeler magazine stated that the AC Delco filter appeared identical to the Walmart super tech filter and the K&N was the same as the Mobil 1. For those that like more info on filters its a good read.

    Mobil Delvac Super 1300

Thats all we run at work in our 4 cycle diesels, 5.9 Cummins, Series 60's EGR and non EGR and the Ford 6.0. The only thing we ever get UOA's back that are out of range are the 6.0's. Anything over 5k and they are below the viscosity range and over the fuel dilution but that has nothing to do...
