We did a trip to Alaska for our honeymoon. We landed in Anchorage and drove straight to Denali National Park. We drove all over the place and never saw a moose or bear! We mentioned this to a local who told us to go the the end of "Northern Lights Drive". It turns out the end is on the other...
Howdy Don!
Your old timers is forgetting "Rooster Cogburn" also filmed here was "A river runs through it". On a side note, John Wayne owned a ranch up off of Deer Creek in Selma, OR.
The spot that you are talking about near the Gorge is called "Natural Bridge"...
We love living here! We haven't been to the coast in a month or two but it is rough and beautiful. I never said that there are normal people in southern oregon! I will say that this mornings catch of bass isn't going to get slaw but they might end up as tacos.
You were in my backyard! We love Bear Camp RD (your scary rd). It is true that people have died on that road in the winter time. The most famous is a family with the last name of "Kim" from the bay area. The husband hiked in circles while his family was found in their car safe. He was found less...
We live about 50 miles over the OR boarder on I-5. We would love to meet you (we met Don and his family on our last trip). If you get up this far shoot me a PM prior to next Monday. After that we won't be near the computer but we will be close to home.
I agree with this 100%. I brought home a 99 Kawasaki Touring bike last weekend and the front brake felt like it was applied and the bike wouldn't move. I cracked the brake bleeders and it rolled! Fast forward to last night and the front is locked up again and the brake feels like it is...
1. You need to use the intake valves off a 79 Datsun B210 for the exhaust valves, they allow "extra clearance" to allow the valve to wiggle closed for an optimum seal.
2. The pistons were incorrect for this application because they are not the ones supplied be the "experts" at Damaged Diesel.

Richard, posts like above are why i was disappointed when you weren't around FSC. Here is where a good thing comes around though. I have to go to Portland, OR for training on Sunday. We decided to take the truck because we are going to do some camping along the Columbia River. A buddy of mine...
So I recently flushed the cooling system and today the heater core blew. It figures, I NEED the truck tomorrow and Saturday. I have to pull a travel trailer for my dad and the Civic isn't going to cut it! We have an issue with the defroster anyway so it looks like I will be pulling the heater...
Hey Paul, will you be anywhere near Portland on August 5-11? I have to be there for training. We probably won't bring the dually though, it is tough to beat 47-48mpg of the civic...
Don, we will be driving right past you on August 5th around noon but probably quite late on the return trip. Will...
Richard! Welcome, sweet ride man! I can only imagine what this will end up like when you are "done". I loved the build of the black 3500HD.
Yes, for those that don't know Richard, he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable on GMT400's and the term "a god" does apply here.
If only one way, we bought the truck in Orlando and drove to Grants Pass, OR via Waco, TX and Las Vegas, NV. Just under 3500 miles in 7 days spent flying, wrenching, unloading a storage unit in Waco, and praying we would make it home 3/2012. Last year we did 5500 miles on a trip from Grants...
Hail storms are fairly rare around here. I was floored when I saw the windshield, then I started looking at the body. I have been to Camp Pioneer. This one is Camp Makualla on Crescent Lake. Never have been to the lava flow at McKenzie but I have been to the Lava Beds and Capt. Jacks stronghold...
