    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Excellent. Thanks guys... So, just thinking ahead. I don't want to spend $1k on an IP. Are the rebuilt units on ebay any good? I think they are about $300? Any other suggestions on a parts vendor? John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

I opened the T-valve fully open and had fuel coming out of the drain line in a steady stream. This is the first time that I have checked it after disconnecting and blowing out all of the hoses. I verified that I had fuel coming out of the line going into the IP. I connected my fuel pressure...

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Thanks guys... So where is the OS and is there a way for me to troubleshoot it? I doublechecked and I only have code 12, which I assume to be no stored codes. That is a great thread, buddy!

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Thanks ak... I already pulled and blew out this line, so I know that it isn't plugged. I will pull it off at the T-valve and check the pressure there. Thanks, John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Will check it tomorrow. I have a fuel pressure gauge, where is the easiest place to check it? I don't remember seeing a schrader valve anywhere. I have a gut feeling of that too, mgray. $$ are flashing before my eyes... No kidding, ak. I almost don't mind putting the money out for the...

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

This project fell off the priority list, but I have made some recent progress. I pulled the filter housing and blew out the hoses to make sure that there wasn't a restriction and then reassembled everything and primed the filter housing. I also installed a new PMD module and relocation kit (not...

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

I disconnected the footlong hose from the t-valve that is open on the end, thinking that it may be plugged. I turned on the key and there is no fuel there. What does that mean? Thanks, John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Sorry for the confusion. I removed the drain hose downstream of the T-valve and looked for fuel coming directly out of the valve and found nothing. There is plenty of fuel and pressure available at the bleeder screw at the top of the filter. Does this mean that the lift pump is working? I...

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Just to follow-up on the items that I did today: 1. Cleaned any grounds that I could find. 2. Checked all fuses. (All ok) 3. Opened the T-valve and turned on the ignition and cranked (No fuel stream, just some dampness) 4. SES Light comes on, jumpered the ALDL and no codes were stored...

Thanks Pruitt... I saw that valve and I and wondered what it was. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for everyone's help. John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Excellent info, Rodd. What is the t-valve? I hope that it is the problem instead of the IP, ak... $$$$ Thanks, John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

Sorry that I forgot to mention. I do have plenty of fuel at the fuel filter drain now that I have replaced the lift pump. I have also replaced the filter and have bled air from the drain. Thanks, John

    Injection Pump troubleshooting

I am very new to diesel engines and just recently picked up a non-running '95 K2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel 4x4 extended cab that I would like to use for towing. The body has 333K miles on it and supposedly the engine has 70K miles. The diagnosis from the seller was that the "fuel pump" wasn't...
