hello to all!!! it is monday morning and i am sitting in blind river ontario just west of sudbury. i have just travelled across for the west coast and late last night my truck for some odd reason now will not release the clutch. i seem to have less pressure at the petal but no noise. i can bump...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i held back and waiting til monday to find out prices on reman heads with warranty. i really wanna just go pick these other ones up but if they turn out to be shit then im back at square one again and thats not productive.
sorry i have no clue as to ur question but i do have a question for u if thats alright. the F engine or S engine is noted in the VIN??? how can i tell if its a s or f. and wondering if the heads are the same on the two different engines???
i just found a set of heads off a 96 with 207kms on them. as i have 2 blown valves on one head wondering if anyone else on this site would say screw repairing my heads and just swapping them with these other used ones. they are priced at 150.00 each which seems like a steal compared to what i am...
mounting the heat sync on the intake??? thats what i did because i didnt get the harness extension. do ya think i will be better off with extending it to the bumper or fire wall
are studs the way to go??? dont most engines out there have studs opposed to bolts anyways??? much easier to line everything up...especially with the weight of these heads!!!
just wondering what everyone or anyone recommends for make of valves to re install in my motor. i have the one head off now and found two cracked exhaust valves. so my question: is there a brand out there that is worth spending the money on and also head bolts. i am debating weather or not to...
its a 97 and i have a another post as pls help me. i swapped the cdr with my 93 to test and ur right it doesnt change anything. i am on my way down to get a compression test done so wish me luck!!!
this is true... the plugs were just changed before i bought it a week ago but seeing it has 140kms on it i might as well change them now. my 93 just hit 510kms today and after putting that lift pump in it last week it has never run better...very impressed with it. and think i was just gonna pawn...
yea i was goin to do that but seeing i am pulling that injector and it is the worst one to get to i am gonna wait til tomorrow when i get a compression test done just incase something else is wrong or if driving it back home from when it happened caused any further damage. might as well only do...
does it help to narrow it down if it sounds like my exhaust is cracked at the down pipe in regards to intake valve or exhaust valve if that is the case???
well i cracked all the lines individually and found second from back on passenger side not doin a whole lot and now i am hearing a lil rattle when i shut it off like a bad valve which blows. anyone know cost of repair for this type of problem???
thanks to all for the advice. i have removed the egr and plugged but no different. i pulled the CDR valve off my other 6.5 and no different so my next step is to crack the lines to injectors and see what happens. i dont hear the turbo spooling at all anymore either and waste gate is operating...
have yet to plug egr port yet ill try that next along with all the other tips i have recieved. i have never brought a vehicle to a service shop for anything even if it takes twice as long i always do myself and thats what i am tryin to stay clear of so every lil thing helps
i am in squamish just north of vancouver. any input would be great as i have wrapped my head around this one and my 93 for the past week. luckily the white smoke on the 93 with 510000kms was a lift pump issue and thats it.
