Chris, This is the late Banks manifold, only used in 88-93 GMT400 chassis for 6.2L. The early manifold fits the 82-87 Style trucks and 88-91 subs and blazers.
I really like the mani you got there, makes putting something like this possible and neat.
I understand the desire for the spin-on. If someone wanted one right now I'd make it for them.
This can be a kit, or a build to order type of thing. At present this price is set. Just like anything else one-off, every time it's built it get's more expensive and the price would be set after...
In regard to the spin on clutch pump. I still see no proof whatsoever that the pump moves more water. None the less how the stock pumps and it were actually measured. There are figures posted in the article but they not backed up with any kind of method.
I'm going to go ahead and kill this...
Honestly, I think this whole "spin-on" water pump stuff is complete hear say started up by Bill Heath; the king of not backing any statement he makes up with proof.
I'm only going to support the bolt-on pulley version. There is enough material in my pulley to thread it for a thread on version...
The early HD's had problems with breaking the frame. Find a newer HD frame and get the re-inforcement plates that come on the 1994+ HD's. My rollback has these on it, as does my other HD.
What's the exhaust manifold look like for one of those motorhome turbo setups? I have a GM4 Turbo off one of those setups, curious what the manifold looked like. Upper intake is sure different.
There isn't any adjustment, nor is it needed. The Hydraulic clutch assembly is not abrupt, there is slip factored into the engagement by default. It is not instant, there is a slight delay, to save the belts and pulley. As I hinted above, it really has the manners of the thermostatic versions it...
In testing my implementation of the Hydraulic clutch using a new/reman clutch and updated control solenoid valving this setup runs the fan similar to an unlocked fan clutch. Just enough drag that the fan turns and moves air without being engaged. This is good because for normal non-ac driving...
Update...
I've added it up and found out a few things. Like I've been mentioning this isn't a cheap undertaking, but it has many benefits not found in current offerings. This is also not something cobbled together either, it will be a real professional product.
I will be ready to post a price...
I am not planning on keeping a kit in stock. This is a speciality item that will be a built at order type of thing. I will post a ballpark price for an entire kit worth of components before the end of this coming weekend. At this point you can decide if you would like me to build you one...
FYI this kit uses the HMMWV fan blade which is 19.5", so adaptation into an H1 would be totally doable.
I am also looking into taking either or both of the fan offerings for the 6.5 and adapting them to this clutch. The Duramax fan and the Standard 97+ 6.5 fan. This will require a lot of...
Thanks for posting.
I had been seeing clutches out the salvage yards that had the electrical connector in the middle (viscous). Was curious about the correct hub diameter to mount one.
What year trucks is everyone looking to have this kit installed on? It's looking like all 1993's so far. Wiring wise I will most likely have a harness and location for the 1988-1994 GMT 400 Trucks. There will also be something for 1995-2000 Trucks (I know HD's went to 2002) wiring wise...
Hey guys, thanks for the interest in the product. Yes, as Chris stated I'm in the development and entering into the testing phase of this setup. I am taking care while setting this up to ensure I can make this into a complete kit that will work with all the trucks.
A/C is something I've taken...
Cool! I sure would like something to stir myself. I have a transmission and all the pieces for a 2WD conversion, but I'd rather find a stick truck and have this stuff for a spare. Everything I have is automatic...
Very true, it's basically up to what's found.
I always remove one rod bearing, usually cylinder #1 and check for wear, since it's the furthest from the oil pump and usually an indication of worse case wear. Since I'm there I'll do #1 and #2 for an inspection with plastigauge.
Gapless rings...
Starter could indeed be bad and the auto parts stores cannot test for this part scenario's failure. The Starter Drive in the starter could be bad, it's a clutch as part of the drive assembly. This can break, or go to slipping and give a neutral type issue when cranking. Since starter testers at...
