    6.5L TD Motorhome repair/repower

Here's the latest. I'm still waiting on some parts. The new undamaged transmission is here (although I haven't actually seen it), the injectors are here and the correct water pump is here. Now I'm still waiting for a different oil pan to replace the "Frankenpan". The Moroso pan from Leroy had...

I was going to brag about my good starting 98 K3500 6.5 TD, but………

It all started with some bantering on another thread between those of us from the north and those from somewhat warmer climates. Well since my recent work replacing the IP. Injectors, GPs, FTB mod and my Heath PCM, I had been pretty pleased with the starting in cold weather. It had been...

Leroy Diesel Prices Are TOO Low

It looks like the other 17 people that bought these only paid $21.95 for them. Must have been special customers that had a coupon.:D

    Freeze plug removal

Might as well install one in each side, while you at it. That way if one burns out, but doesn't leak, you can just use the other one. It probably doesn't get that cold in OH like it does here in MN, so you shouldn't have plug them both in. :)

The ATT is on! And I blew an injector on the way home? OR, My weekend with Leroy :)

Only below freezing? That would be nice. It's been below ZERO all week here and we're looking forward to the 20s and maybe even 30 in a week.

    Poor running engine

Here's the pictures of the electronic fuel pressure sensor that I fabricated. I ordered the 1/4 T and it came with too small barbs, so I had to modify it to work. I chose to mount it in the drain hose before the T valve.

When I find some place to check it correctly, I'll have it adjusted. In the meantime it runs real good.

    6.5L TD Motorhome repair/repower

With the new turbo configuration, I don't need vac for anything other than the heat/ac/vent controls. That's the way it is on my P30 chassis. A vac pump in the stock location is possible and if I go that route, I will put a new one in place. The biggest problem with the stock mounting, is that...

Maybe I'll have to locate a local powdercoat outfit or there always is Rustolium.

    6.5L TD Motorhome repair/repower

Depending on the cost of OEM, if I cheap out and settle for the aftermarket, I'll probably buy 2 and mount the cheap 1 in an accessible place so it can be easily changed on the road. At this stage, I'm looking for as many trouble free miles as possible.
