I sent 4 emails to peninsular in the past 8 days, about returning the incorrect transmission that they sent to replace the broken/wrong transmission. I want to return it for a refund, so I can get the Road Ripper 3000 from Certified Transmissions in Omaha.
Sorry about that. Although I did warn you in advance.
I didn't wrap them up. I only took what they handed me and box it up. I assumed the were drained and figured what residual oil was on them would stay in the double plastic bags en route to you, guess not. I suppose the extra week of sitting...
It just doesn't stop!!!
I mailed a box priority mail with my OEM oil cooler lines to Leroy so he could make some new ones for me on 4/3.
It was supposed to be there on 4/6. It is not and now it's lost in transit and the USPS has launch an investigation as to where it is. That will take 3-5...
While I'm waiting for responses on the transmission issue, I've been looking at other options. I checked with a local transmission remanufacturing business, Zumbrota Bearing and Gear. They don't build my type of transmission, but they could order a reman in. They also suggested an upgrade since...
I'm having the installer check for the correct transmission, I may end up returning the wrong one to peninsular for a refund. They are after all an authorized Workhorse dealer and the lead mechanic working on my project is a factory authorized Workhorse technician.
Good news and bad news,
Bad news first,
When I stopped in today to check on progress on my motorhome project, I was informed that there was a new problem. The tail shaft is too short on the new transmission to accept the tail piece the holds the E-brake assembly. Pictures attached.
Good news...
The latest on the repower saga.
I was notified that the shifter shaft on the new transmission is too short as compared to the old one.
I emailed pix to peninsular and am now waiting for a resolution.
Here is some pix of it and the Morroso pan next to the Frankenpan.
After a tough time getting it started, then having to pump up on set of duals, I was able to finally drive it to the installer.
I think one of my 2 year old batteries was no good. I had the charger on it for days along with the engine heater plugged in, it just wouldn't catch. As soon as I...
I finished the FTB mod and was supposed to finally drop my motorhome off today at the installer, but it snowed 11 inches here last night and now I'm dealing with that. So, it looks like tomorrow is the day.
What's one more day, when I've been waiting since last July to get this project going...
I suppose the fuel could have gelled, although most places blend in additives in the winter to prevent gelling. That's why the fuel costs more in the winter up here. I also buy my fuel at the same places, unless I'm traveling.
I've never had an issue before with gelled fuel since I started...
