I'd review your filter setup and all plumbing. It would seem you're drawing in air. As you know in stock form the CP3 does all the work drawing all it's own fuel from the tank.
Absolutely yes. If you butt a ring, game over, with any engine.
Traditionally the 2nd ring acts as an oil sraper and is made with a tapered face which is not ideal for sealing compression.. Are these gapless rings still a tapered face?
I can say the Sealed Power pistons for 6.2 & 6.5 (and others) are currently mfgd in India and LACK the steel keystone top ring land that interlocks in the piston casting.. They're made entirely of whatever aluminum they scare up over there. Consequently they are much lighter so balance becomes...
It's rare, but an ecm can go belly up. I'm not that well versed with these computerized 6.5s. My 93 is mechanical..:)
I do know that bad grounds can wreak havoc.
Sounds like the theft deterrent (security) system in the ECM is shutting you down.
This thread is from our technical library here on TTS. Hope it helps. See post #2
Would think this setup may be picky on octane and alcohol content..and other kerrap in 'gas'. It's interesting tech. Read another article saying they want a lower burn temp in the engine but don't you need heat to burn off the terrible terrible terrible unspent hydrocarbons? :\ :)
You and your A/C.. You act like it's hot out there in the desert southwest or something..
But yeah some of these 'parts' as they call em is downright dismal and borderline life threatening.
Good info above to keep stored in the brain file.
Might be worth it if your original backing plates have grooves worn into them where the shoes sit. I've been know to weld those in and buff em back to shape. ;)
No I have not. Sounds like the machinist needs to cough up some parts. Is it the parts that go in the block where the oil filter sits? Maybe a few pics would help us.
It was funky for a day, went away for a day, now it seems to look good at least on this end since yesterday. Try deleting temp files and refreshing your browser.

Noticed the banner ad and thought I'd say WELCOME to The Truck Stop.
We always like to see pics and videos of the venerable 6.2 & 6.5 engines and associated parts, and welcome discussion and info you would like to share.
