Hello all thanks for adding me

Welcome Natem3. LBZ is a great generation of the Dmax.

4L60E pan with drain plug between years.

The 4L60E shares the same pan bolt flange and number of bolts from the early 80's TH700R4 all the way up to the 4L75E. Obviously you'd need to match filters to the pan you choose (depth) as the filter doubles as the fluid pickup. Take heed to the filter seal as the OE is often a metal clad...

Wix xp still the go to filter

Misspoke there. Drop the first *5* so for instance a WIX 51515 is a longer oil filter for the Jeep 4.0. Then in the NAPA gold it's 1515.

New Lift, Still Biting, Splash of Air

Good deal and thanks for checking back on the 'fix'.

Wix xp still the go to filter

That's news to me.. Not defending NAPA, but what was the failure? WIX used to be all made in Gastonia, NC. What ever in the world happened?

    Tranny cooler location

^^I understand this. This confirms the radiators effectiveness at cooling an automatic transmission's spike in temps. Tradeoffs? Yes. Auxiliary cooling? Yes.

    506 BLOCK WORTH ANYTHING?

Yep Yep. In that crossover year the 599 block (one piece rear main seal) could have been bored for 6.2 or 6.5. Same stroke.

Wix xp still the go to filter

Wix FTW. For The Win. Fun fact, drop the first 9 off the wix part number and you get a NAPA gold filter number. WIX makes NAPA gold filters. 10-4?

    Are my headlights too bright

*High* beams has been a thing on the road. I drive commercially and the amount of light bars and non DOT approved conversion headlamps is on the rise out there on the highways and byways. The main offender is the LACK of consideration (dimming for oncoming traffic) and the LACK of properly...

Late to the party. Was this during a regen? Did you ever find the cause? Thx.

Thinking about you all Southeast U.S. hunker down and rise once again.

    Tranny cooler location

Oh. hmm. You'd be hard pressed to get a quicker cool down than a cooler in the tank of a radiator as a part of the 'cooler package'.. It's been explained to me like this; when you want to cool a torched off or welded part fast, do you leave it out in the air, or do you dunk it a bucket of water?

    Alpine CDA-7998 parts

Old old old thread. These displays have been out of print in the parts aftermarket for quite some time. Somebody way smarter than me could probably fix these on a component level. (resistor, FET, transistor, IC chip, etc)

    Tranny cooler location

Frame is a natural heatsink. However you go about axillary cooling always run the hot trans fluid through the radiator cooler first.

New Lift, Still Biting, Splash of Air

Everything before the pump, review your connections. Likely air inclusion somewhere.

    506 BLOCK WORTH ANYTHING?

Yup, that's what came in my 93 mechanical 6.5 599 (avatar pic) as well. T precups. Flow wise not sellar in stock form. Small valve. Tyical short length fine threaded injectors stood up straighter than the 6.2. Liked to crack in between the valves.

Good to know on future endeavors. Thanks.

    BCI Group 48/H6 battery options

Well here's a quick way to drop a total of $408. That's four hundred-eight american greenbacks which has already been taxed at least 4 times by the time I see it. This is even with turning in 2 cores at $16 each. I am not bragging about it, in fact I'm tender in spots, now..

    BCI Group 48/H6 battery options

In my 2018 Dmax. It's time for new batteries. Would like to stick with classic flooded lead acid. I personally have not had any luck with AGM. Any U.S. manufacturers left? If so, What sticker (brand names) should I look for? Duralast/Azone? Interstate? Everstart/Wally World? Suffice to say I...

    Fluidampr off the 1989 6.5

^Good info above. Nowadays FD prolly just makes one version (short) and adds the spacer ring.
