    Successful Journey

Not a lot of action on this category, I take it. Oh well, I'm used to it. But I'll post anyway. Put 300 miles on ole Beulah this weekend, and something I don't do often. Mainly cause of the Flintstone floorboards, among other aging body parts. The frt end, frt tires, and exhaust is new, along...

    1983 C-30 Restore

So to continue on, after last years excursion of mending a broke valve and ring set, and the summer before, rebuilding the entire frt end, exhaust, and frt tires. , my next project is to repair the rotted floors. But because, (as I've mentioned before), not even Rock Auto, carries full floor...

Well Tanner, you've got more confidence than me. I've got 1 broke piston, and 1 dropped valve so far, with barely 100k on it. I'm not chancing it.

I see your point about not towing in O/D. But you have 4.56s, and at 60 are cranking only a little over 3000 RPMs? you must have a hell of a tall tire. My back tires are 245/75R/16s, and barely squeak out 30" tall.

Tanman, are you saying you also have 4.10s, no overdrive, and cruise faster than 55-60mph?

    1983 C-30 Restore

Not with a 6.2 you don't. Unless you want to pick up the pistons off of the road.

Hey Jasper, it's funny you ask what trans, cause I hear about these 465s all the time. I have a factory shop manual, and the tranny in mine they're callin a 117mm, or a 7B4-3. It looks like photos of the 465, so I don't know what to call it. It has the creeper 1st gear tho. And if you ever drove...

Howdy folks, Usually my forum projects become diaries, and incorporate many pages, so I'm not sure what'll happen here. Hopefully I'll get some beneficial info for my "clean-up", and members may pick up some useful info. If nothing more, maybe you'll have a good laugh. I haven't any recent...

    6.2 Owner

Not sure how many participants are on this 6.2 forum, cause I'm new to the club. just feeling things out right now. Introduced myself on the "introduction thread", (Another Newbie) and posted a few pics of my truck. 83 C-30 dually, (cab and chassis with a bed on it.). Still has a 6.2 in it, but...

Thanks Leroy. I'll be starting a thread on my floor replacement here soon. Think Rock Auto will be supplying me with some sheetmetal.

Warw, thanks for the link to the projects. I'll be checking them out. And Leroy wants pics? This is all I can muster. They're a few years old, and the trucks in serious need of an up-date. Which is what I plan this spring/summer. The pic of the bed off, was when I installed the Holmes winch, and...

Howdy truckers. Forgive my inexperience, but I haven't even followed this site. Sorry if I misread, or post in wrong areas, but it'll take me time to get acclimated. I'm in Ct, and am interested in, (wait for it), your 6.2 column.:wideyed::wtf: I know, I'm ready for it. I've had my 83 C-30 cab...
