My 78 MG-B Roadster.
The windshield was bad busted. I had bought another MG-B for a few dollars. Good windshield in this one, body rusted out.
I ordered a new windshield gasket and after it got here proceeded in changing out the windshield glass.
Okay now...
For Me, if it would be a compromised windshield body flange and the rest of the body is in good condition, remove the glass, make the repairs and install a new glass.
IDR the numbers, the state got in some tandem axle trucks with six cylinder cat engines.
Those too were throw away units.
Sad that thats how things now are done.

A lot of years ago I put together a mega squirt DIY controller.
Tried to convert my 78 MGB to dual SUs converted to throttle bodies.
Could not get it tuned. It would start and run, drivability, nope, not good.
I dismantled that system and now running on twin H4 SUs...
They still are available, I have seen them before, just not taking the chance of having that thing fail at some critical moment.
Full on PS is the proper answer.
Something is not right if You arr going through a lot of those.
I had to replace one in about six years and that one was transferred to the new engine.
I’m confident it will perform just fine in this engine too.

Yes, it turns the variable assist into full time, full pressure just like the older vehicles.
GM decided this variable assist system was not functioning as it should and they actually started a campaign to eliminate the variable valve system, using the components just like what we are seeing...
That variable electronical orifice device comes off. The large fitting screws into the pump with the larger O-Ring properly attached.
Then the small end of the ] pipe screws into that fitting and the pipe/hose screws into the larger end of the tube/pipe.
