    New Cat Skid Steers.

We didn't really have many complaints about reliability with the new Holland's. Never really felt they broke down too much from normal wear. Most of the repairs were caused by the operators. Crashing into things and not waiting for glow plugs causing excess cranking on the starter. Or the...

    New Cat Skid Steers.

The Cat salesman started putting the pressure on us last summer about buying one of their skid steers. Us as well as others in the area never even considered them, always figured they were too expensive and the dealer was on the other side of town. Most farmers just bought what the tractor...

do/did you drive for TMC? I passed one of their trucks today that made me look twice. It was a green 386 pete, the truck and trailer both looked like they just came out of a snowstorm, but they were headed north and its 80* here haha. I have heard TMC is cracking down on spending though.

    Tractors - Post them.

Deere green is a drug. Many people are addicted to it. It is damn good paint though. Best in the industry. When it comes to the appearance of the tractor, deeres scrutiny is second to none. Same goes for fit and finish in the cab. They also have the best marketing skills. I also believe they do...

The tests came back perfect. Strong on power, blowby was well within spec , the bottle test was perfect as well (for cooling system). Oil analysis showed all levels well within spec. Service history didnt show any major issues, so we are buying it. they still have to detail it but ill post...

I got there just I'm time. One of the other salesman was about to write a deal on it. Got the deposit down now just waiting for dad to get back for final approval. 578,000 miles doesn't really scare us at all especially on an 07. We knee we couldn't afford to touch a newer truck with under...

Looking at an 07 T600B right now. Ya I wanted a W9 but gotta start somewhere, cant jump up to the big leagues right away. The T600 is the same firewall back anyways, just doesn't have the nice long hood, or as nice of ride, and not as easy to work on motor, but all still way better than anything...

Well I think I've got dad on board for retiring the FLD fruitliner from milk hauling to just running our apron trailer when needed. its getting tired and its an FLD. Looking at W900L's now :D. Really would like an 06 or 07, but dont want to stick too much money into it either. Want something...

Shoulda snapped a picture today. Brakebush chicken is on our way up to the milk plant that we drive 4-5 times per week. They run mostly T800s and some T660s. All bright yellow with white accents. Polished perfectly every time you see one. Very nice spec'd out trucks. Reefer trailers are all...

Air Setup in the Shop, Finally!

We ran our air with 1" PEX tubing. And ran all drops with black pipe. Its not very traditional but is working good and was cheaper than other methods and safer than PVC.

    Tractors - Post them.

Suspension ? The 285s are nice. Only problem with them is the CAPS injection system. Area Diesel makes a P-pump kit but it is $13,000. We would've stayed with Case IH if they could've kept up with the times, but they haven't Gotta do something because he sure isn't plowing any snow. Haha

Very nice ideas they look great. Im in the same process as you. Making things nicer to work with. Im making everything possible portable. The more I can move it the better. I hate clutter, hate waste, hate walking across the shop, and like things neat and open. Keep posting pics, any plans...

    Fall Harvest!

Mike that was my plans, I'm installing it myself and figure the sooner I put it on the later it will snow. The 70 loads went on about 30 some acres I believe. Snaplage is when you adapt a combine corn head to a forage harvester and chop just the ears. Also called earlage.

Well after using this snappy for a couple months. I can't say I've had a complaint,Definatley gives you a sense of pride opening it up for the day. And even better knowing ypi paid $8,000 less than what it is new. Going to make a drawer slide cleaner soon and work on cleaning the slides some...

    LML Throttle Mapping

Old thread but I agree Jeff, i hate how you have to pin it to go anywhere. Makes it feel like your driving an old gasser, not a diesle with 765ft-lb of torque. Ive got our older LB7s mapped a little different so the response is there right away and they are very nice to drive. I wonder if they...
