In the last week my '84 Blazer with the 6.2 has started (well, not started) to grind like the batteries are dead. I put a load tester on & it read ok, slightly low, but in the green. I connected my 150 amp charger/starter for maybe less than a minute, cranked right over. Disconnected it & tried...
Are these hydroboosters all the same?? I have an '84 Blazer & pu & suburban <-last 2 for parts. Are they the same for blazers, pu's, subs? Dont need one now, just wondering. -c-
On my '84 6.2, what happened to me was the glow plugs unscrewed ok, but tips on 2 of 'em were 'swollen' and would not come out. The 2 right side ones buried next to the heater core. Where there is NO room. I ended up having to pull the motor to remove them.
Did only enough in HS to graduate. Jr college for 1 1/2 years, just enough to keep from getting drafted. USAF, I worked on ejection seats. Operating Engineers (heavy equipment operating) union apprentice program. Since then, I have taken numerous classes at local JC for diesel engine repair...

On Friday I called the truck wreckers about a rotor. They sell them for 25 bucks, or 'hub&disc' for 60 bucks. I was heading over there & thought I'd check the parts store for a 'special' socket for removing/installing/torqueing the nuts down inside the hub. (I looked at them & wondered how...
How much hassle is it to remove the hub tho?
Ive pulled/ swapped 6.2 motors before, but I'm 67 now & I am still sore from changing the brake pads!!

Last weekend I went to bleed/change brake fluid in my '84 Blazer. "I am almost deaf, the pad 'squealers' do nothing for me". I found the pads worn to steel & the rotor wasted (driver side only, pass side pads THIN, but ok. How much hassle is it to replace the rotor? I have the shop manual & it...
My nephew is a distributor for Mugen Seiki. I remember him (when the gas powered cars came out), he never won races with the 'jap' engines, he installed (& won with) italian motors, claimed they were the best, bar none.
Had an '82 which the nut holding the bracket on starter kept coming off no matter what I did, one bolt would break off inside the block, natch, the other would stretch, & then I KNEW again. Get out the jack & jack up the starter to get her started, go home & fix. At home I had a brass sleeve to...
