Check out the pics in this thread.

They show a very good reason why checking battery cables was mentioned earlier in this thread.

There are many variables that need to be known that can affect RPM at a specific speed. Rear end gear ratio, tire size, and type of transmission (auto or manual, might make a difference for O.D. gearing, but not sure on this).
That being said, here's what I have. 94 K2500, 6.5 TD, 4L80E auto...
Ak, good luck with that glowshift gauge. I don't think there is any way to dim those gauges. Mine never could be dimmed.
A few years ago I got five glowshift gauges because they were inexpensive enough that I could afford five. I now have only one left that works. Of the five, two were...
GM did some rather crazy things with the Suburban brakes. With 8 lug axles you could easily have 2 1/2" or 3 1/2" drums. I have personally seen, in wrecking yards, 3/4 ton Subs with 3 1/2" rear brake drums and shoes and full float hubs, which are what you would normally see on 1 ton SRW...
I'm interested in the tune you got. What do you have it set up for?
I also have an HX35, but so far no money for a tune. When I do have the money ( have to get medical bills paid off first) I want to be able to go ASAP on a tune. My plans for my pickup are to use it as a tow vehicle for the...
The question I have is, does the disc brake rotor attach on the inside of the hub the same as the earlier-98 GMT-400 body style. Or, does the disc attach on the outside of the hub as the 01 and later GMT-800 body style. The later hub configuration with the disc on the outside is so much easier...
I can't help you with your problem, sorry. But, those motor homes used to be made about 35 miles south of here. They are no longer in business. I'm not sure if they were bought out, or if they just closed shop (used to be several motor home manufacturers not far from them). Anyway, some other...
AK, in your post 88 you are questioning the angle adapters for the gauges that go into the overhead console. Several years ago I added an overhead console to my pickup so I could add gauges up there. I used the same angle adapters, for the same reason as your question, and they worked very well...
I'm really looking forward to more pics. I like the theory behind what you are doing, and am interested in seeing how everything works out. I know this is not a good time of year to test out a cooling system, but still looking forward to seeing how it does.

You approached the rear mount differently than I did, but with the same results. A very solid mount. I also did a single strap, like you did, for the upper mount over to the belt tensioner. I just did the one strap, and it has been in use for 3 or 4 years now with no problems.
I made the top...
I haven't taken time to do a side by side comparison, but 235/85/16 is supposed to be the same as 265/75.16, which I do have. I have 4.11 gears, and my speedometer is almost dead on accurate with that combo.

I don't have any experience with floor coatings, but the best way I ever found for finding something "lost" on a clean flat floor is with a flashlight. Turn the flashlight on and lay it down on the floor. Move the flashlight around, spin it slowly, etc, and look for the shadow produced by the...
Having to pick up tools almost every evening gets old. I did that for many years as I moved from job site to job site. Being able to secure your tools is priceless. Good to hear that you are at that point now.

Thanks ak. Was feeling puny (rare for me) this morning so haven't done anything outside. Just been sitting a lot, catching up on my reading, getting my butt and sacro-iliac sore from all the sitting. Still have more reading to do, but making good progress on the backlog.
Tomorrow morning I pick...
Been too busy with other stuff that had to be done ASAP to get the "spare" 6.5 back together to keep from losing anything. Chicken yard is almost finished. Should have been putting sand into it, but was feeling puny (rare for me) and didn't do anything, except get my butt and sacro-iliac sore...
This right here COULD be the root of your problem. A fresh coolant change will often still have a bubble of air in the system somewhere. I've had this happen to me with my K2500 pickup. After topping up the tank to get the coolant back up to where it should be I had no more problems.
Something...
Sorry about being gone. What's been going on the past few days has been an eye opener for me. I've always known that being the victim of a house fire is devastating, but being so close without being the one actually dealing with the devastation has really opened my eyes. Not only have my...
I thought I better give a quick update on things. I haven't had any time to spend on the pickup except start an oil change last night (in the dark) since it was overdue.
Reasons? One big reason. FIRE!! Fortunately, not anything of mine. Wednesday morning at 2 AM our Boxers woke me up. I decided...
First, I'd like to congratulate you on a well executed building move.
Second, I don't normally openly disagree with what somebody says. But, anchor bolts in tornado alley, or areas that consistently deal with high winds are not over rated. Back in the dust bowl days in Oklahoma my mother, as a...
