Leroy, im sending you a PM, but you can count me in for a DS4 unit. Your price makes it hard to say no, even if it sits on the shelf until I find time to install it! Thanks again!

Ive been through that same thought process many times, but I always end up spending too much money and time fixing what ever "beater" i bought. Really wasnt a smart financial decision at the end of the day. You come to realize that a vehicle has a lifetime in the rust belt and there is only so...
I will agree. I also noticed how much quicker the truck starts as well. Amazing how something as simple as increased fuel flow and pressure can make such a difference in the workings of the truck.
Maybe I will try using one of the newer style all-in-one filters instead of the locking ring...
It is, but I do believe there is a point with these IP's that there can be "too much" pressure as well. IIRC that would be right around the 15psi mark.

Not sure ive heard of anyone else with the issue. I wouldnt be concerned, the FRC-10 has been great so far with much better pressure than the FRB-5.

Leroy, I appreciate the offer, but im not sure the FFM is to blame. If I find that might be the case I do have a spare on the shelf as well.
I have been installing and tightening the filter the same as I always have. Same AcDelco filter brand. Had the stock LP, a FRB-5 and now the FRC-10. Never...
Sometimes I think it is actually better for it to sit there frozen. Everytime you melt it off with hot water or a heated garage, it gives the salt a chance to creep into areas it might not have reached before. Just a theory however..
The last few years here they have started pre-treating the...
Leroy, not trying to de-rail the thread, but what is the difference between the damper for the DB2 and the DB4?
Really just curious more than anything but....I plan on converting my truck over to mechanical when the pump goes again, so I dont want to have to buy a different damper too when...
Yes it does. I have swapped filters too, so i know that isnt the problem. The way these things seal isnt exactly perfect in the first place, couple that with the increased pressure and they just dont seem to hold up. At least in my situation it isnt...

The purchase price plus shipping on the rear bumper I bought was still less than LMC. Not by much, but still cheaper. However if you could find an original one in nice shape, like you did, that is probably the better option. Both with price and steel quality. However, here in the northeast...
Ok, so heres the deal. Ive noticed with the new FRC-10 LP, my stock FFM cant seem to hold up to the increased pressures. I keep running into an issue with the fuel filter o-rings blowing diesel all over the place. Not a small leak, but a stream of fuel on the ground. Im using AcDelco filters and...
I purchased a new "stock" rear bumper for our 97' at work from rockauto with the impact strips. Honestly, i wasnt expecting it to be as nice as it was. came with all the frame brackets and hardware. The plastic trim fit was perfect and the chrome finish was excellent considering it is an...
Looks good. Especially for the price! Ive been running the autometer electric one. Pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Ive been using it for about 3 years now with no pressure snubber, and the guage dosent flutter at all.

Just an update for anyone interested. I gave up on trying to find new parts after searching everywhere I could think of. Brought the cluster to the dealer to be sent in for repair. List price for the repair was $350 but I paid $200 which I thought was somewhat reasonable. The cluster came back...
If I was in your shoes I would be rebuilding the unit you have. Id be alot happier with a genuine holset. Not that theres been any known issues with the knock-offs but with your semi-fresh motor, i wouldnt want to chance it.
Truck is looking good with the new fenders. Looks like a genuine...
Ive been calling it a "stepper motor" for lack of a better term. It does the same job as the newer stepper motors on the 01'+ trucks although it looks nothing like them.
The speedometer unit...pictured above...would stick at various places on the guage or raise with short jumps to the traveled...
Deff the stepper motor. The speedometer has been sticking/jumping for the last 3 years and now the fuel guage is all over the place. I tested the sending unit and verified that it is not the problem.

Ok here is my last try. I have searched all over the internet and called countless gm parts sources and guage repair shops, still with nothing. I am searching for stepper motors for the older instrument guage clusters found in our 6.5 rigs. The one im working on now is from our 00 express van...
Anyone have a source for gm guage cluster parts? Preferably 95'+ parts, stepper motors, clear covers etc. Im trying to fix the cluster in our 6.5 express van, but I could always use parts for the newer trucks as well. Figured its good job security if I can learn to fix these things.
Mods, can...
