Actual, honest, real world MPG from your 6.5

Okay, so if per full tank of 42 gallons if I register 530 miles I'm actually doing 576 miles per tank full. The math would be 530x8.8%=46.64 miles not registered due to my bigger tires. So I'm getting about 13.71 mpg. Wow that sucks.

Well the mileage I came up with was based on a 42 gallon gas tank. If I do have the 42 gallon gas tank I get about 525-540 miles per tank full. Considering my 295's can we say I'm seeing 15 mpg if I take into account that my odometer registers less mileage due to the bigger tires? Also how can...

Well I got in touch with diesel addiction in Wilmington NC the shop who the PO told me tuned my rig so now waiting on the owner who tunes them to call me back. Realistically can my 29's make that much of a difference? I've read through almost every post on the thread and there are other with...

Hey Don, i fell ya buddy. I don't even tow anything yet. I wanted the 6.5 diesel because it is supposed to get better mpg then the gasser. Guess I'm going to have to make some changes to her and see if I get better mpg.

I filled up before I went to Savanna GA to buy that hard top. So all highway driving I didn't go over 70 but mostly at 60 mph. At 70 mph my rpms are at 2. I know it's the stock Turbo. Don't know about injectors. Just know what I've done to her so far and it hasn't been much yet.

Man my mileage is shit compared to a lot of you guys. What's wrong with my 1999 6.5td suburban? I fill her up and I can only go 525 miles on a full 42 gallon tank. More about my trucks set up that I know of. Oh yeah only weight in her is me and my girl and together we weigh in at whooping 245...

    I'm back with a keeper. .

Thats a great idea deejaaa. That's exactly what I am going to be doing. Last year by march I sold 10 trucks and couldn't sell anymore for the rest of the year! That's why I'm getting my dealer license. No limit and I can go to auctions. I'm renting a 2,000 square foot shop on Monday. I used a...

Will my RPO codes say what my front gear ratio is? If so I'll bundle up and head out to the driveway. My rear is GT40=3.73 I looked at RPO codes night I bought her.

    I'm back with a keeper. .

Yeah well Now I spoke with the PO he says the rear in the truck he ordered from summit racing and its the correct gear ratio just has heavy duty springs and it drives fine in sand or snow just really aggressive on dry pavement. Can that be true?
  16. aLpHaSuRf

    I'm back with a keeper. .

Well I spoke to a buddy of mine. I figured out the problem with the 4 wheel drive on the Tahoe. Different gear ratio in the rear vs the front. Going to pull RPO codes and get myself a rear end from the local junk yard that matches my RPO codes.

Hey guys I haven't been using my diesel Suburban since I put the new power master starter on her. I only used it once to go pic up a used removable hard top of my 1993 Geo Tracker. I'm on the process of redoing the hard top. It's coming very nice. I didn't buy ends yet. I did get my new battery...

I bought a hammer crimper, but I'm going to do like you and also use solder! If I use solder can I still hammer crimp them?

Wow, right now we're still on our little trip. So far we stopped to fill the tires with air, stopped to fill the tank & stopped for dinner and this starter really kicks her over great! What a big improvement over the OG starter and all the pieces of crap Nappa sold me. I'm impressed!
