No way to test PMD for continuity that I know. I did see a website a long time ago that talked about looking at the output on an oscilloscope and checking its waveform. But I don't know procedure or pin or what the waveform looks like. Sorta a test you have to know its injecting fuel to think...
Yep, PMD/FSD - pump mounted driver or fuel solenoid driver is a prime suspect. It was a weak link on these trucks. They failed in a number of ways with many doing just that engine stalls or dies like you cut the key switch off then IP won't send any fuel to the injectors. No OBD codes are...
So was this an occasional driver and has been parked for too long (a season) and just doesn't want to start up and run but cranks over fast. Or was this all of a sudden running fine driven regularly but turned into a no start situation in last couple of weeks?
Welcome to the forum.
Yep fuel in doesn't guarantee fuel out of IP.
Look over the diagnostic checklist posted on here for ideas and all the stuff we need to know to give targeted ideas.
Broadly RPM, temperature, fuel are key but details needed including introductions etc...
Are there any brake codes in older trucks like the later years? There are a few different codes listed for later years depending on brake build. ie 6 lug vs 8 2500's I believe are different for the 90's.
Can you find the part numbers looking them up on rock auto or a GM parts website to see if...
1 tire same brand etc. 10k miles shouldn’t be a problem. Probably difference in air pressure and or front to back bias.
Wife has a BMW X5. It’s full time all wheel drive with traction control. I was able to patch a tire but asked in case it’s not repairable would I have to get 2 or 4...
Stoney that is not the case. I think you are thinking of conservation of mass. Yes, the same amount of water or air will pass through something that goes from round to oval and back to round (just measuring individually) but the drag through a change of shape is somewhat like a direction...
I don't know just saying there seems to be a fudge factor more than just looking at square inches comparison according to the link I posted. Looking at the chart at square duct 100mm by 200mm is equivalent to 152mm diameter
Comparing just area
square duct 100x200 =20,000 square mm
vs 152mm dia...
Plugging and chugging the equation for an oblong pipe of dimensions 3x5-1/8 I get an equivalent round diameter of ~4.1"
de = 1.55 (π b^2 / 4 + a b - b^2)^0.625/(π b + 2 a - 2 b)^0.25
a= 5.125
b=3
Someone can check my math its been a while.
This is a mathematical approximation. It does not...
I am not a fan of stacks. I am more of a function rather than looks. Why cut a whole in the bed? The only reason for a stack IMO is if you are pulling a trailer with something you want to minimize the soot stain. Or a tractor you don't want exhaust choking you as you hook up attachments...
Neat to see such big components in a smaller machine. Sounds cool! I wonder what the idle rpm is? That thing had a bunch of rings. Was almost like a diesel powered hydraulic ram. Different way of explaining torque curve on the rpm part. Really highlights how a big mechanical ip governs...
Glad they don't seem to be messing with stuff. Might take a while to reveal their damage because it is a small bite at a time. How long have they been there and expected to last?
Just thinking about it I wonder if.... What NVW posted about them eating maybe a poison plant supports this...
Yeah, radio DJ talked about it on my local radio. The video's of the swarms are impressive.
Here we have skeeter meter's low = nice day for a walk, Full scale = Don't open your mouth.
The video's look like you can't open your mouth. Birds will have eaten them so much they'll be sick of...
I like the screen idea and malathion. I don’t know but some bugs are drawn to light colors thinking they are flowers. So a bit hesitant about the white sheet unless you know grasshoppers don’t like the white background and they feel exposed.
Don’t know if there is something like citronella...
Glad you found it. Doubt they have ever had anyone have the balance numbers from tested.
Isn’t the clutch advertised as either a performance or at least OEM specs. Might could argue the LUK balance specs if Phoenix won’t supply theirs. At least have numbers to explain to PayPal why your...
I can see why this engine got such a bad wrap and so few shops were able to work on it successfully. It took me a couple of tries to catch on.
To be fair Carcode confuses me. Not sure I cleared codes correctly once or twice. I do it from status window and again from enhanced but enhanced...
