Ok so this thing still had 140psi compression across the board but spun a rod bearing.
I am going to swap in vortec heads and a marine cam but what rebuild kit will be best. Anything else I should do to the engine internally?
This will be in a 94 c3500 5 speed with 4.56's.
I am looking at a 91 k2500 350 eclb 8 lug. Will it have a a 4l80E? The add says lost reverse and the owner is oblivious when I try to get them to send pics of the trans.
Working on my brother in laws Denali. It has a 6" lift and 35" mud tires. Driving in the mountains on a ski trip he heard a loud pop and the engine free revs in drive and reverse.
So we pulled the trans and tcase assuming a broken input shaft. Now we cant get the torque converter to pull off...
I chalk test mine and watch the wear pretty closely.
At 80PSI my front tires are still squated ALOT. With duals I don't need as much air in my rears to support the weight
No, it howls running 60 psi all around and it chews front tires up if they aren't at 80. If I run the rears at 80 I will make the centers bald.
My truck is special when it comes running in 4x4.
Got pics of the worn tires?
I have 50k on these, my truck weighs 11-12k and is off road as often as on. I run 60psi rear and 80 psi front rotated every 10k with oil change.
Pretty sure my f600 wheat truck has a 390 or 400 in it. It's really not terrible just sucks the truck is only a 4 speed with a 2 speed rear.
Someday I'm thinking a 5.9 and a 6 speed MD trans would be nice and keep the 2 speed rear.
I have a similar project in the books.
A 94 C3500 5.7 5 speed dually that I plan on cab swapping a 95 c2500 automatic 6.5 cab on.
The end result will be a 95 c3500 6.5 5 speed dually.
