As Kenny I believe implied in his response to my post, poor use of words perhaps.
Kenny I suggest you change the title words 'Waste of money' to 'Unnecessary use of money' to get us all on the same page so to speak.

Sure throw money at it and yes you will build a better mousetrap, but one should try to temper things with fiscal considerations.
Yes fluid dampers are a very common stock item on diesels, though I highly doubt the one fitted to Jimmy 2 Stroke is SFI rated!:D
However in this case what...
Seriously before you start removing things get it cranking faster, as already suggested yours sounds like a weak starter motor. My guess is that she obviously cranked slow before you had the no start and therefore you are summising that this is not the issue, but no matter there is nothing more...
As already said, too slow on the crank speed for a start. New starter if all connections are good, have cranking at correct speed before you go nuts chasing dead end solutions.
Also you are using the Wait to Start light wrong (glowplug light). You start cranking when the indicator stops being...
Long shot but how long ago freshly built engine that has been sat around for a while without being run up? May not have much compression. Oil the bores to cover that issue.

Yes it supposedly does do a tune for the 6.5.
As already pointed out though an unknown on the boards here so he'd no doubt be better off going with a tested beast. Heath, Kojo or yourself if he is OBD1 etc.

Now that is interesting, just went to PCM Performance website. They offer a kit so that you can reflash your chip without sending the ECM back. You cannot change parameters merely flash a tune that they have created.

The later reservoir will no doubt have equal size large ones being disc and disc. I would not worry so much about the smaller rear drum reservoir as others have found converting to discs it works OK. The issue with the smaller reservoir will be that the smaller volume will not be enough to...
Another thought, fitting Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads on the front makes a very noticeable difference to the front brakes. More than likely not as much as trying to fit the GMT800 units but still does not leave me wanting more on the fronts.
As already mentioned rear disc kits for the 8 lug...
Thanks Tim.
EGR can supply an 8 lug rear kit, thing is their hardware is actually from TSM which is where I got my rear kit from rather go to the horses mouth and I got a better feeling after talking with TSM. TSM also has the calipers they supply rebuilt/gone over in the US as they were...
IIRC there were snake oil salesman selling some kind of kit or it was touted on the boards to install a variable resistor across the pins so that one could dial the fuel rate so to speak. The whole idea is moot due to the PCM storing the value in memory and not looking at it for x number of...
Now that is interesting, thing is SSBC already does a multi piston caliper kit for our trucks. IIRC Tim is running them, perhaps he'll chime in and give a cost comparison. Odds are the pricing is comparable in which case I'd rather go with the SSBC calipers.

Mirror's my thoughts in regards to why cannot someone build a bigger better unit. Several factors at play here and not so much that it cannot be done but more of a research and development fix for a system already 10 years old. Also factor in this, if we go with the premise that due to remote...
What year did the mirror start having the temp in it. On my 97 just the compass works but if you look at the display carefully you can see that the digit segments are there for the temp also which leads me to two conclusions.
Mine has it but does not work for some reason on temp.
It was...
Lets face it whichever brand, they are what they are, a poor early electronic injection design. There is no doubt only so far that you can build the better mousetrap.
What pisses me off is when a company seeks to redesign and make the better mousetrap and market as such. Then they knowingly...
Hmm so they know they have an issue with a batch and will replace it if it fails but are not willing to just publish serial numbers and recall them. Having suffered a runaway failure myself (with a stanadyne) you'd kind of hope that in knowing all this they would get them out of the system...
