I dunno could be a diamond in the rough, in my world I work on/come across old stuff that has been outside for years and I am usually surprised at how well stuff has fared. I concur with the price being too high, the risk you are taking and electrics being questionable but it still is what it...
So the rights got purchased and along with it a whole bunch of parts. Well they ain't going to make a bunch off stuff of the bat until they see how fast the stock flies of the shelf. Not sure if we are technically at panic stations yet. At the worst I'd offer that pumps will remain...
Regarding the main cracks i'm with the others high mileage blocks this is going to be par of the course. So I'll be intrigued to see how the next one tears down.
Regarding the cracks Robyn over on the page reports good results with this cold repair. Worth a thought seeing as your in this...
There's more than one flavour of doing it out there. The first link for West Coast makes as you describe without the seams the only difference being that the use a hook on the outside to lace the wire around rather than the grommet which makes them quick and easy to install. The downside to the...
I have been using Autoenginuity for years and like it fine great for doing multiple makes and latest version can be run off a Tablet or Ipad. The customer service is excellent also. Yes it is dollars to get the Bidirectional GM package but once you own it your done. The trick is if all you...
IMHO wrapping the crossover just makes it rot out quicker moisture gets trapped and then does its dirty work. As to custom made thermal blankets that tie up with wire or springs and hoops they're standard in the marine industry. Old fashioned way was to use either a high temp mineral blanket...
Over the years on my marine diesel rebuilds I've been using Duplicolor Ceramic Engine Paint with good results, partly because they supply Alpine Green for Detroits in the rattlecan. I'd say it's as much about prior prep as it is the paint itself when it comes to holding up on engine blocks...
Well that's good to know and indeed makes sense, in my experience over the years diesels are indeed set up that way with tight timing housings for pump changes. Trouble is I have come into a job on a different engine after a prior mechanic did a pump change that ran like shit and indeed I found...
No I don't believe pulling batt or pcm will reset it. Once TDCO is learnt it stays that way till next relearn, makes no sense for it to be lost or reset if truck is sat without power for a period of time otherwise how would you hook a new batt and simply get on your way.
Just reread your post...
If read correctly you said not using KOKO method? I seem to recall that using the Tech2 you force a TDCO value for current pump position whereas KOKO has the PCM figure out the TDCO based on that position. Anyways I have always used KOKO with no issues and never tried forcing it from a...
Wilson is a better brand rebuilder and yes I do recall there being a dyno sheet in the box.
Not trying to discredit the Dogs Bollocks nature of Powermaster just merely pointing out that with upgraded cables/top posts and good batteries I have no perceived need for anything hybrid regarding the...
Heavier gauge cable to battery top posts, good set of batteries, Wilson starter been working fine for me for multiple years now. I'd advocate starting ability is more about cables, contacts and batteries so long as a quality starter is used. Though I do not doubt that a Powermaster is nice.
Thanks for the headlight info responses. I have in the shop a WT front grille setup was pondering a while back to convert over to sealed hellas to get away from plastic lenses. Seeing the LED sealed units has got me thinking about this again.
In the spirit of what did you do, yesterday I laid...
Late to the party, I run the KD clutch 195 stats and steel fan and love it it behaves exactly how I would expect it too kicking in before things start getting too hot and yes it does kick out.

FWIW been running the same Heath LP for nigh on 10 years now. Gauge currently shows 4-5PSI heavy 8-9PSI light. No idea what it was out the box no gauge installed back in 2006.
Anyone figured out what Heath is using, the Delphi?
Cheers

For future reference:
Pull Grill and Front Bumper.
Temporarily remove high pressure line from power steering gear.
Cooler line with a wee bit of persuasion can be then made to pass over the top of the power steering gear and then withdraw out from the frame rail. Finicky but doable.

Is it possible to R and R the power steering line that loops into the frame rail and back without dismantling radiator and shroud etc? Looks to me like it will not shimmy out of their easily. Well the blown one will LOL but not so sure about getting a new one in?
Cheers
