Well look what the cat dragged in!
Good to see your handle pop up again mate!
Howdy fellow 6.5ers it has been a while since I've been on forums, good to see some familiar faces still here I was surprised that A; I remembered my password, and B more surprised it still worked :)
Just realised that in my old school way my fit translations I gave in the last post were more for reamed bushings than honed.
With a honed bushing one can expect a free fit in aluminium at .0002 thou that I would say translates to a light thumb fit. One older book that I have when discussing...
Full floating is as already been said, the gudgeon pin rotates in both the piston and little end. This is to spread the load across 3 bearings rather than one, in this case of course aluminium being a fine material for a bushing. I also recall discussion at some point in my past regarding the...
Whilst I cannot argue against the concept of external rectifiers especially in relation to single bridge alternators I would say that as far as the Amptech alternators i recommended it is not necessary. These are entirely a different beast handwound larger gauge coils with large heatsinks and...
Wow there's alot of R&D in his Diff Pans, very impressive.
I've often thought that the curvature is there for good reason and that flat can work against that. Nice to see the seethrough model.
Nevermind the dumbass post ^ above the roller is of course a seperate pin! Doh.
However any feed back on these greasable pins and has anyone seen or used these ones?

Yes I have nothing but high praise for TSM! Its a great well thought out product and they are very helpfull. I initially went went with the Caddy E Brake calipers because at that time they did not have a mechanical offering hence the second mount ran empty. I had issues with the these...
Yeah my TSM rear disc conversion came in at just under a $1000 all in, that includes a double caliper bracket and regular non caddy calipers and a separate mechanical E brake caliper. But boy am I much happier!

Total long shot but you are confident that the calipers are free moving on the steering knuckle itself. Once in a while one of my calipers drag too much because they start to interfere with the knuckle because of built up rust etc.

Just spent some time on this as follows:
3.2mm Cloth Covered Hose (1/8") does not require clamps.
MBZ part number 605 078 05 81
There are generic offerings out there and they seem to share the MBZ part number, the MBZ version is grey in colour with what looks to be a yellow stripe. Generic...
If you want a quality no nonsense true hot rated alternator then go with an Amptech. They are hand wound, large heatsink units, I have been using these on various marine builds for the last 20 or so years with no complaints. I have used their large case 300 amp units in a daily high current...
LOL my Heath crossover did not look like that after 5 years under the wrap but then again I'm in the land of copious amounts of salt use. Replacement is now unwrapped and looking way better after several years.
Perhaps give Frozen Rotors AKA Diversified Cyrogenics a call and get a comparison quote before you ship. I use them for my rotors and am happy and they do engines etc.

The later 97 and up stock cooler is a metric straight thread of the size M27 x 2.0. I did mine many moons ago with a fitting from Parker that adapted over to 1/2" NPT. Parker part# 222P-8-M127
I used 5/8" stainless braided teflon hose and field connectable fittings that allowed me to route and...
Lead wire for measuring clearance.

I seem to have lost my roll of 1/16 otherwise I'd pop some in the mail to you.

That's quite the flip!
Was watching him over on the page, is there something wrong with me? If I spent my life mithering about the finer points of some of the diesels I work on i'd never get anywhere LOL. Odds are it is what it is an OK 18,000 mile unit. At the price paid at least throw it...
