I have a 6.2 that I have not pulled apart yet that could possibly be good. My blown up 2000 may be good lol.
It sucks to say, but the total on the 6.5 that is going to be going in my truck is probably pretty close to the same cost as a p400. I had the block machined and the heads rebuilt and...
Unfortunately things don't slow down in the winter with cattle or my full time job. We doubled the amount of cattle we have in October last year when we were only planning on getting a handful.

For what it's worth, if it's not too late, I believe I have one of these blocks. I can't confirm that it is the exact same block, but it is an aftermarket one. It was bought off of eBay probably ten years ago and was claimed to be based off of the gep block and was around $2000 at the time. I...
As for the original engine, I don't know what is wrong with it yet. I was driving it home with the family from picking up a few things when it died. I wasn't pulling a trailer or any kind of weight in the bed. I was about 5 miles from home when all of a sudden it got really loud (I thought the...
Wow, ok so apparently it's been a really long time since I've updated this....
Not much to update though lol. I bought a farm last summer and spent most of late summer/fall working on equipment and combining crops. Then I bought a bunch of cattle and been playing catch up since then. The truck...

Not really. I have all my parts together to get cleaned up and painted. I've had little time to do much on the engine, but the little time I have had I've been buttoning up the actual engine and neglecting the exhaust for the moment. Just got the o rings yesterday to bolt on the oil filter...
So I was debating on whether or not to paint the aluminum parts on my engine. I like the way the aluminum looks when it's clean and "new", but I don't like the way it looks once it gets the crappy looking coating on the outside of it. So I had decided to paint it all. But then I was reading a...
So was it antifreeze? My first thought was an ac leak. If it's had dye put in it, the oil will have a slight green tint to it. Will be neon green or yellow with a black light on it.

Sad thing is I originally had planned on having it in the truck by October at the latest LAST YEAR. I have decided to do more to it since then, but it definitely seems like this engine has no intentions of going in my truck.

Yeah, I am having them do it so if something else ever happens they can't come back on me saying they could tell I modified it. Better safe than sorry. I sent them an emailing letting them know that a very large group of 6.5 owners already knew they had a problem that they supposedly fixed over...
Well, I thought I would have a surprise for everyone and tell you about how I have my new Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers installed, pictures and all. But......seems they failed to take care of their rocker binding issues.
I didn't check the last set before I installed them on my other engine...
Not as terrible as I thought it might be. But then again, it might be double that for the added pipes I have. Might have to check into it just to see. Might be surprised I suppose. Good surprised or bad surprised....

I hadn't considered doing that. But now that you mentioned it...why not spend more cash!!! Any ideas what kind of money that would be. I've never had anything ceramic coated before.

I had thought about the bellows, but virtually all the aftermarket piping I have seen for all other center mount setups, they all do away with the factory bellow piping and just have straight pipes. Even the hummer upgraded pipes do away with it. I am hoping that the pipes are short enough that...
Not turning out too bad.
I am going to finish cleaning up the welds (the driver side manifold needs a lot of help) and then I plan to have them shot peened. I painted the passenger side pipe and manifold just to see how they will look. After they are cleaned I am going to do my best to paint as...
I got everything welded except the back side of the flange on the passenger side manifold. I'll have to pull it off to do that. But everything else is welded and ready to go. Now it's time for cleaning it up and some paint. The passenger side pipe is now nice and close to the head and should...
I guess I could have taken credit for the welds, but then you would see I was lying once I weld everything else together...
I actually did get my new welder. I didn't have the gas when I tacked the rest of the pipes together, so I just used a self shielding wire to do the tacks. I actually got...
Hahahahaha have you seen my welds!? The welds on the "y" pipe aren't the prettiest, but they are better than mine lol. After lots of searching, I found it on eBay. You'd be amazed at how little options there are for a 2 1/4" to 3" "y". Most were two larger pipes going to one smaller pipe (???)...
