There is a pipe plug just up from the oil filter use that plug get a line made (stainless with a teflon interior) and run that to the turbo. did you enlarge the block oil filter feed and return passages to the same size as the 6.5 liter block? Most don't but it is a nice thing to have the extra...
You do know that boost alone doesn't make power. You have to get the exhaust out as well. A small gm turbo makes boost and heats the air. Doesn't get the exhaust out as efficiently as it should. And as boost raise so does air intake temps, high intake air temps lower the benefit of any turbo.
:???: The things about bigger turbos if done correctly, is not about higher rpm, although a bigger turbo is more efficient at higher rpms. The thing is to get the exhaust out and still be able to have a truck run well. There are a whole lot of opinions, on the ATT. It is a rock solid product...
FIX IT
ARP studs and felpro +.010 head gaskets. No better combination. Victor Reinz gaskets would be good as well used both. +10 is cheap insurance against a slightly out of flat head or deck. The studs work great use pipe dope made for steam pipe and make sure the threads are dry. Hand...
I also have a builder that uses only Bosch Nozzle and they do a major 6.2 boat engine manufacturers work. :) pm me if you have not committed. And yes 2300 seems to be the best pop pressure so far.
YES
My post wasn't about what size the plungers I have are, the point of my post was to see if someone has had a DS4 with larger plunges set up on a Stanadyne bench. Please disregard my post. If it could be deleted by the staff it would be appreciated, thanks.
Who will be setting the pump up on the stand? I have a much larger plunger DS4 / that has .3 plus plungers. The specs are set for the DS4 by Stanadyne. The bench is a pre programmed set of fuel points. Have you found some one that will set it up for you? I have a shop but right now don't have...
I have used this shop for quite some time and their workmanship is right on. No slouch, this shop does the work for a very respectable 6.5 engine builder in the area and they are VERY familiar with the 6.5. They also will set the pop pressure at anything you want at no extra charge during the...
Yep 18 to one so getting boost numbers that low in the rpm range is a good thing. Should run nice in a stock compression truck. Better to test it and make sure than blow up someones truck.
The HX 35 is not much better than the gm 8, You would be better with a turbo that can grow with your needs. There are trade offs on every modification, fuel mileage would be a number one concern. I like my A team Turbo 1 to 3 mpg more on my rig and a few others. Just my 2 cents worth.
Talk about making a turbo wake up, boost starts at 1283, rpm at around .2 tenths of a pound under light load and .8 at 1283 under medium load in fifth gear. Nice to see 20 plus pounds boost again at 3300 rpm under heavy fuel. I sure didn't like the way some of the tunes had their fuel tables...
Testing and tweaking, I like what I have so far, now testing on another members truck. I bet I changed my tune a hundred times. tweaked fuel and everything in the tables to find out what they affect. I like my glow plug settings, and my idle and fuel tweaks (revamps) really.
I might be able to hook you up with a good machinist, or you could go plus ten gaskets to go down one point without any problem. Sleeving all eight wouldn't be a problem either ran a few motors sleeved for a reason. i like sleeves myself.
