For those who are thinking of getting GMT800 99-02 mirrors like i did, there is one little snag I did not know about. The polarity of the mirrors between GMT400 and GMT800 trucks is reversed left and right in the switch, and because of the way the mirror motors and switches are built there is no...
If you want to remove the wiring, you'll need to remove the bases and arms as well. First is to snap the mirror post cover off, I found it easiest from the back side, use a screwdriver to unclip it.
Then remove the 4 bolts holding the post in place
At this point you'll have to remove the...
I recently picked up a set of 2015 style K2XX mirrors for my 98 Dually. The fine folks at eBay (aka china) have made aftermarket replacements for GMT400, GMT800 and GMT900 trucks. My truck's primary purpose is to haul an 11.5' slide in camper and a 14' enclosed trailer, so towing mirrors are a...
No front clip, nothing too exciting actually.
Nothing but mere maintenance. Just trolling a little bit.
Ever since I bought the truck the front carpet gets wet when it rains. On both sides. Everything I've read says to seal the screw in the cowl... well it wasn't a HVAC box leak.... It's both...
No, at this point both are mine. The seller of the original one was willing to split the rebuild cost with me. I needed all the brackets as the other one came with nothing but the charger.

Ran to the junkyard yesterday to try and find a driver's seat (no luck) but I did...
I'm hoping this one lasts longer....... so far so good!
Forgot i picked these up the other weekend... Really good passenger bucket seat and a 99-02 center console in light grey....... Now to just find the front block off plate and a good driver's side bucket.
both driver and passenger floorboards. It's not the heater box, and it has a new windshield. I've read where sometimes the cowl sealing leaks.... So that is my best guess.
It's crazy how the world sometimes works.
I recently was back in contact with an old co-worker of mine. Upon catching up the topic of the Whipple came up. Turns out his Father had a 98 Suburban that had one installed on it when they were towing snowmobiles. The Suburban had one of the inside...
It was used, yes. I bought it off a semi-local member of another GM forum. It was running when removed, so I really don't know. Gah. I know I shouldn't feel cruddy about inanimate objects, but I basically have a $3,000 paperweight. I can't afford to repair it, and doubt I can get anything back...
Thanks for all the comments guys...
Welp, that was fun while it lasted.
Slipped belt wasn't actually slipped. Supercharger seized up and killed the motor. Upon examination...
Put the truck back to stock last night.
FML
I'm not sure, to be quite honest...

Nobody here caught on to the subtle hints...... so, here you go :wacky:
Spent a bit of a late night wrenching, but, the deed is done.
To be honest, it seems so... unimpressive under there. Very OEM looking for the most part...
About 6 hours of drilling, grinding, ez-outing (those F*ckers aren't easy. They are a lie), and tapping but the exhaust studs are fixed. Ended up with 4 broken total, 2 each side. Only 1 of 4 I was able to cleanly extract, the rest were drilled and tapped. They aren't perfect but better than...
 Hey, I've owned both. I miss the rattle of the 6.5L and the turbo, but.... yeah.

Hrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg
$214 worth of carbide bits... lets see how tonight goes.
Thanks!

Oh joy... injectors again.
Lower intake gasket time....
All cleaned up
I ended up pulling the valve covers and will be re-gasketing them as well. I also found 2 of the exhaust manifold studs were broken off on the driver's side.... That won't be fun.
Added another Escalade part. Painted the dash bezel to match, and modified it for my switches. the SEM came out a touch lighter than the dash itself, will have to see what it looks like in the daylight.
My next project has hit a snag and might get delayed some, I will hopefully find out...
