I think if you post a few pics of your turbo with the stock filter box might help, side view, front view, etc.
Back when I did all this with my 92 I used a "cobra adapter" and it was simple. That air box was a flat style filter so yes it was a little different.
I can't see the wheels good enough to know for sure but I'd guess they are 6 lug, that makes me think 3500lb axles, and add to that the jack is a light weight puney at best, all this leads me to think even if the load was towards the rear it would still be over weight.

The wiring for lights is already in place in the ceiling, the light strips plug in and will hang down via 6" cable, lights haven't arrived yet.
The rafters are beefy and tied to the truss and the trusses sit on the walls. No movement at all, I jacked each truss up...
The copper washer is only used on certain adapters, 95 & earlier, I don't know the adapter part numbers.
The washer goes between the bolt head and adapter.
I think the way to tell is if a o ring is on the bolt and inside the housing where the bolt goes in, no washer.... But I don't have a...
