Try to rotate the motor while pulling it up, if there is sludge build up or the rod is stuck. Another sure way is to crank the motor, the cam gear will push it up, when it does the rod will stop turning the oil pump tho...
Unfortunately, it's sitting in the corner of the shop on a stand still.
I have a tranny to swap into the truck sitting in the bed also...

P400 heads are thicker and the passage is their but has more metal, and they aren't induction hardened so they aren't likely to crack ever, so their is no reason to do this mod on p heads...
FYI, those front bolts on the lip of the oil pan aren't needed, the p400 doesn't use them, the holes are there but no threads, and if correct sealant is used no leaks...
Yea, several times a hi way man would blue light me and say slow down on channel 19, I'd let off till he was out of sight then back to making time... I enjoy those roads, and been on 95 many times, I like the lesser traveled route...
