Got the intake off today. I am running copper line to the pump inlet and outlet and keeping the rubber hose and all wires out of the intake valley. I liked the appearance better, but the heat and diesel leak softened everything, plus it is impossible to fix any leaks in there on the roadside...
I am looking for the same of the hose I need to connect an hx35/40 turbo to my 6.5 intake. I want to cut the intake plenum behind the cast in boss to make more clamping area and to make removal and reinstallation easier. In other words I want a longer hose and am wondering what size to buy.
How do I build a catch can system.
I got the new CDR valve. Looks like I'll need to raise it a bit to clear the turbo down pipe.
I'm thinking a 1 inch nipple and short piece of hose, then the CDR, then out to the catch can.
Sprung a leak somewhere up by the injection pump. Made it back though.
Looks to need the intake off again and leak fixed, then timed. Then the fuel supply issue.
Gotta do something about the hydro boost and noisy front brakes.
Then to the easy stuff.
1500 miles round trip. First day was a pip. Oil loss and massive blue smoke. Unplugged the CDR and been good since. Maybe a quart used since. Ran the hose back by the heater fan. Ordered a new CDR.
-Power steering / hydro boost is an issue. Pump overflows when braking until the pump is half...
It didn't use any oil with the smaller air filter out. The one I found is 7 inches across the paper, not under six like the other. It's also twice as long. I posted it as 8 inches wide on another site, but I was thinking about the size stove pipe I'll need to make a cold air intake.
I plan on...
Will the truck run and and be ok with the CDR hose unhooked and or the CDR removed?
Can I plug a breather filter into either the hose or the valve cover itself?
Went out and found the largest round, 4" outlet air filter on the local parts shelves. No one carries the BHAF Cummins filter. The one I found is twice as long as the AEM one I have. I'll plumb it in tomorrow.
Tomorrow, the good Lord willing, I'm on my way to Virginia with a 10k trailer in...
Something else occurred to me. With the air filter such a restriction as it has been, maxing out the suction gauge I installed. It must have been pulling on the CDR like an s.o.b.
