I went through the batteries this summer. I use military battery clamps, so they stay tight. I'm leaning toward grounds, but ordered an acdelco solenoid as a back up, so hopefully everything with the truck will be...
Yep, it went clickity.
But seriously,
I'm going to do two things.
1. Clean all the grounds as I've had a lot of steering fluid (atf) sprayed on everything, plus diesel and motor oil. All those leaks and issues have oiled everything. I carry brake cleaner for that sort of thing.
2. Carry a...
Tanks back in and ran a bit..
Transfer pump working.
T stat in old one was 195 degree. Double gaskets all around with gasket shellac on the metal sides.
Starter in. Tried it and CLICK, then whir and vroom. Shut it off. Tried it again, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, ...CLICK, whir and vroom.
Oh, fixed a...
Starter is in. Tank is out. Nothing wrong with the tank. Looks like a tank switching valve issue. I'm going to go to a transfer pump from one tanks supply line to the others breather. Since the tanks are vented at the caps it should work.
It could be a it's LIKE that sometimes click..
All these wunderfull whineese warts we wav wese ways...
Truck had been doing the several clicks before it turned over thing for awhile, been busy with other stuff.
I got one, and after replacing the water pump, it held. Now it doesn't.
Down to Napa, got gaskets and antifreeze. Upon leaving, I didn't. Dead starter. Under it I go. Try power direct to the solenoid. Big spark, no start. If I remember right, it's a Napa starter. New reman on the way.

Yesterday went fubar. Drove up into Vermont. Gauge started bouncing. Was 2 gallons low. Added two and left the cap loose to slow the leak. WRONG! Sprayed coolant all over the air cleaner. Big white cloud, two low again. Bouncy gauge...
Two more in, (I carry a lot), and a tight cap, was good...
I've been reading and researching and my head is spinning. I am running a single t stat housing. I've no clue if it's a bypass or not type. I'm running the high output pump. Do I want the hockey puck t stat or the unshrouded one, with 2 springs? Anyone have the part number for the 180 degree...
Your not an ass, I know I've posted a lot. The idea of making 6, 1500 mile round trips, half of those 9000 miles pulling heavy, sometimes very heavy loads up those I-81 hills has me very determined to get it as right as I can, with what money, time, and tools I have, without a shop to work in...
Fixed the CDR, have a new one and it's fine. Oil use is very good now. I've got the four core brass radiator, heavy duty fan with the spring mod, high cfm fan, radiator is black. I was talking about the oil pan, valve covers, intake, etc painted black to help. I do have wmi, but have yet to...
I wonder what more I can add for cooling. I've even vented the hood, & put electric fans behind the coolers. I wonder how much heat I'd lose going to all flat black paint?
I'm not getting into internal coatings.
I could try finding space for the coolers not in front of the radiator.
