yes I do have mercury balancing with CTIS. Not good?
I'll get my son to drive it and I'll watch from behind.
I checked the wheels and none are loose. The front end gives a bit left to right but i suspect that would be front steering linkage play.
I like your tire option. I think ill do...
Oh it's happened! I lost the front left tire while driving. When I bought the vehicle I drove it for a month and the wheel come. Not fun. I'll jack the vehicle and check each of the wheels.
I am uses Cepek 16.5 rims. Half shafts haven't been replaced since a I bought the vehicle. I bought a...
None in the steering wheel.
The passenger front and back seats shake. Okay... so based on none in steering wheel that would eliminate steering (pitman and idler then)? So I am down to tires and drive shafts/half shafts?
Latest test results:
1. I drove it at 40 MPH with brakes applied: Still vibration.
2. I drove the vehicle up to 60 MPH then put in neutral. Vibration still at 40 MPH
3. I drove the vehicle to 60 MPH, put in neutral and shut engine off. Vibration still occurs at 40 MPH.
Is a CV joint...
Hello All,
I have a 1999 Hummer H1. Over the last couple of days I've noticed an ever increasing vibration that occurs at 40MPH and disappears around 50 MPH. I've had the vehicle 2 years and replaced the ball joints, idler, pitman, and shocks when I got the truck.
This vibration has...
Wow WarWagon you nailed it. Never even thought it could go in another way.
AThis is where experience pays off and all theyoutube videos in the world can't cover everything. I'll let you know how it goes. I had my son open the hood at home and sure enough it is backwards.
Thanks Ak. I'll do a compression test tomorrow and see how it looks. I does not look good as I tried to decrease the boost but it still lifts the dipstick and spits oil when RPMS are high with some load. I have not changed the Turbo yet so it is the original 6.5 unit.
No blue smoke when running. Engine runs fantastic other than covering me with oil.
Blow by only on dipstick.
Upper radiator hose pressurized? How should I check that and when? (at idle?)
Hello All,
A few days ago I replaced the IP, harmonic balancer and CDR. I left the dog house off the vehicle so I could see if there were anymore problems. This morning oil started blowing out the oil fill dip stick at high RPM and boost while accelerating. It was black oil only.. no...
Tee in fuel line - that's what I am doing next. I'm in the middle (with friends) of replacing the harmonic balance at this moment.
For the turbo swap I am a bit concerned about the oil loop. The turbo has a strange gasket for oil cooling. I need to find an adapter so that I can connect...
I did not have a fender style creeper. After working on it for hours balancing on various things, my friends and I constructed industrial racking on the front of it and used a 4x8 sheet of plywood to lie on. It was still quite uncomfortable to do the work like that.
I believe I will order...
Ill take a pic. Basically I was trying to pull out a stuck transport truck but the engine broke free and the fan went through the radiator stack so it was a rather expensive repair.
The mount sheared the bolts clear off. I do not see any studs out as it looks like it was cut flush at the block.
I finished replacing the IP however when I was under the vehicle I saw the bolts were sheared off on the motor mount on the ddrivers side. The bolts sheared off in the block.
I'd really appreciate anyone's input as to the best way to remove the bolts after I jack up and remove the old mount...
Update: For anyone having the same problem. The solenoid closing time was 0. I found the solenoid on the injector pump was shot and partially shorted for the FSD was unable to detect the closing time.
I had to replace the injector pump. What a horrible job.
