    Tractor Pull

Ether. Those motors are very low compression (@8:1). Sometimes it will puddle in the intake until the turbo can blow it through.

Opinions needed - Performed Optical Bump

I've never been worried about my 6.5 running too cool. Gotta run 195 for maximum power and efficiency, blah blah blah! I've never broken anything by running cool- running hot is a different story! Mine will get up to 195ish towing ridiculous loads up a mountain, but unloaded cruising is probably...

Opinions needed - Performed Optical Bump

I got almost 18.5 on my only "trip" this summer (still mixed driving). A/C on and therefore cooling fan running. K2500 eclb, 4l80e, 4.10

Five years ago, I got mine from Ted's Trucks and Stuff in AL for about $3400 delivered (no warranty).

IF you decide to ditch this engine, it would be best to find an Optimizer or p400 (Navistar block) imo. And then still do a full teardown to make sure everything is right. I didn't, but I feel that I have been very lucky and I should have.

My two trucks are 49 years old combined. Just bought a 2021 Atlas for the wife (it's nice!). Guess what? She likes to drive the 6.5! Good luck

I also have bypassed the transmission cooler in the radiator and go straight to the Hayden unit I put in out front. ( I don't run this truck in winter).

    Educate Me on Thermostats

I have kept out of this conversation because I feel my results are not typical. I run a spring modded Hayden 2840 with a 21" d-max fan and a 2k model year spin on pump. I also have a 12gph water/meth system that I use when I am towing big loads (11-15k, and on mountains only). That said, my...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Still took me longer than I thought it should have. I had over 4 hours in it until I was done fussing with stuff. Had to make two runs (one to my dad's and one to my father-in-law's to retrieve some of my tools that are involved in other projects)! Good thing they're close by!

    6.5 super charger

My youngest is headed to college in Aug. Factory is taking a toll on my hip and my hearing! Now I can't get my head far enough away from my hand to see what I'm writing!

AirDog is up and running (initial results are promising!). Fresh oil this morning and back to work! Have the day off so I'm helping the wife with mowing jobs!

All wired and ready to go! However, this was an outside job (barn's full), and we've had weird weather all day, 20 minutes of rain, 20 minutes of sun. It's raining now, so I'm not crawling back under the truck to fill the filters. Tomorrow!

Any suggestions for this stuff? Sorry fellas, I chickened out today and left the stock nose cone on the pump. I want to get the AirDog up and running first, then I'll yank the intake and top injector lines. Just have to deal with this mess yet!

    Educate Me on Thermostats

I don't know the under hood temp at which mine engages. I do know that by the time my temp gauge reaches two marks below the 210 mark, the fan clutch is fully engaged.
