Need help! In a pickle in Nome, Alaska

IIRC, on the OBD-II, physical mounting of the IP is not as critical for timing. It does need to get close-enough though. Specifically, the computer is going to control actual timing depending on what the logic calls-for at the moment. Physical orientation does make a difference as it allows for...

    Still need halp

If measuring at the IP, every time mine went to 0 psi, the engine died. Wouldn't do much more than idle if the max pressure was below 5 psi. Could limp home if I had 7 psi, but the engine was not happy. If measuring upstream of the LP, can see where measuring a vacuum is workable while still...

    Still need halp

In this case, no need for a fuel gauge that shows a vacuum. The engine lets us know about a fuel vacuum when it goes quiet 🙃

    Still need halp

4# under no load on a 2000 DS4? If correct and read from just upstream of the IP, this is indicating either a failing LP or clog / restriction in the system.

    Still need halp

Description looks like the PMD to me. Sometimes even new PMDs are bad. If possible, locate a known working PMD and use that one to help isolate.

Need help! In a pickle in Nome, Alaska

Completely understand the half story and memory lapse thing when helping parents. I am trying to keep people from taking advantage of mine. Latest is that they called an exterminator to get rid of some ants in the kitchen, and next thing I know about is a $3K bill from the exterminator upon...

    Injector pump

A new DS4, if you can find one. Sure, this is probably the more expensive route. But, it will cost a lot less by not having to mess with repairs and replacements from remans gone wrong, or not completely right. But if labor is free, going the reman route might save money in the near term, but...

    Filter before Lp

As I read the discussion about what is the current acceptable LP, and a question of what looks like wanting more flow, an older E-mail conversation with Stanadyn regarding the IP is coming back to my mental recall. IIRC, the DS4 does not want a lot of pressure and have something like 12 psi max...

    RV with 6.5 Diesel Turbo

Fun fact. There is a port, in the head, above the #8 cylinder, which has a screw-in plug holding in coolant. Removing this plug and installing a coolant temperature sending unit is a great way to add a second coolant gauge for watching the engine's hottest location.

    RV with 6.5 Diesel Turbo

Adding to Will's Chicken Little thoughts, might consider stocking-up on known consumables as some new parts are into the rarity territory if wanting to get reliable new parts. And some new parts are into the rarity territory and heading to unobtanium (if not already there). One example is new...

    Under hood light bulb

Found it. Bulb is a 93 base. 94 and 121 will also work as they are the same base size, but have more light output. No need to get this bulb from a dealer. Any big box auto parts store will work. WallyWorld probably has it on the shelf too.

    Under hood light bulb

It is either a 94 base (possibly 121 for brighter output) or 1156. Am leaning to the 94 / 121. This is one application where it is tough to justify the extra cost of LED over filament. The extra light output from a LED is nice, but the location is not all that friendly to the LED as it does...

    Changing EFI Fuel Injectors

While realizing that finding new good parts is a challenge, I still remain allergic to reman / rebuild when it comes to the fuel system. Far too many disapointments with anything other than new parts.

    Seems like a huge misrepresentation

Am joining the ranks of calling Shenanigans. Photos do not show that the block has a lower girdle, and is using a standard sump.

    Cub 154 lowbboy.

Looked into this as I know folks with older engines. Seems that lead is only necessary for a few engines where most are indifferent to the presence, or lack, of lead just as long as the octane meets minimums. IIRC, whether the valve seat is hard or soft is the key where soft seats are no bueno...

    Cub 154 lowbboy.

For the front tires, get this: https://slime.com/collections/sealants/products/2-in-1-tire-tube-sealant-1-gallon Easy to apply, just follow the directions. A tire shop turned me on to Slime. Great stuff for pushing the lives of low speed / low weight bearing tires.

Tractor/equipment for up to 5 acres

And ^ this is the main problem. Allowing the mobile device to store passwords is a rather big vunerability and no different than putting fish in a barrel and thinking the stork won't snag them. Just say-in ;) Fortunately the fraudsters did not jump over to stealing funds directly from the bank...

Tractor/equipment for up to 5 acres

Yup. Was not the Credit Uniion's fault. Or the credit card company's. Or PayPal's. Paying attention is the best defense, although not foolproof. If anything, this is in the FBI's lane, but am betting the amount is way too small for them to chase. Would not surprise me if the money is now in...

    Pulling all

Call me a skeptic, but want to see a few more inteligent posts and responses before I get excited that this is not another bot. Lets try it this way and see how the conversation goes: Hey @jaytow , how does your favorite fuel taste?
