    The obd1s would get stuck and be hard to get unstuck once you hit -2.02 IIRC. The obd2s don't seem to have that issue.

    My 96 went to 305k before the crank broke. It had massive blowby, I'm assuming from getting too hot. Never did anything with the dampner, My 99 is at 285k and blowby is still OK, noticing lower oil pressure though. IMO getting hot is the main culprit with these engines

    You need to get a scanner on there that can read the data live to see what's being commanded vs what's actually going on. Have you checked the harness plug at the trans to see if it's oil contaminated?

    That's not just the TCC unlocking that's dropping at least one gear maybe two. Makes me wonder if it's bouncing in and out of limp mode

    Are your engine temps coming from the dash gauge or from the scanner?

    It can come and go. It can be loud enough to sound like a rod about to exit the block

    5 seconds should indicate that it's taking that long to refill everything. If it only lost pressure it should build pressure immediately
