    doing the injectors

I found that this also helps when doing the injectors. http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00904250000P?vName=Hand+Tools&cName=Ratchets+%26+Sockets&sName=Socket+Accecssories&prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=L5 Colby

    Front Bumper

I was at Banks Engineering the other day and was looking at their cold air kits aka "Ram Air" and it looks like the drop down unit on the system that has the scoop under bumper might fit up through the hole where the passenger battery makes it current home. I will be returning a few things...

    Front Bumper

I appreciate the help that everyone provides to this forum, I was just trying to liven things up a bit. Never thought I would hurt any ones feelings. But like Buddy said 6.5s are the brunt of lots of jokes and we should not take offence to them. On a side note David (88GMCtruck) your...

    Front Bumper

Well on the subject of getting cooler air to the air filter I was hoping to find a way to make a cold air intake for the truck. That involves moving the passenger battery to where the spare tire is and the spare tire to the back bumper. With the battery out of the way I was hoping to drop a pipe...

On the subject of fuel -- Aux fuel tank/ bigger for a Burb

That 26 gal tank sounds like it would be perfect. The two fuel fills under the stock cover is a very clever idea. Colby

    Front Bumper

What is the function of the two vent holes on the front bumper? I always thought they were put there only to tell if it is a diesel or not. :nonod: You can't tell me when you see a GM towing a trailer you don't look in the cab for pillar gauges and at the front bumper for two holes on the...

On the subject of fuel -- Aux fuel tank/ bigger for a Burb

Having a 600 mile range in the burb is nice, but it sure whould be nice to have an even larger range!!! Adding an extra 26 gal would add about an extra 400 miles. That sure would be nice. Colby

    California Cold Start

I played a trick on you. I set up the camera on the tripod then let the glow plugs cycle as I came back to the camera to press play. As you see me walk back to the truck the glow cycle has already turned itself off. I did that so there would not be 15-20 seconds of dead time at the begging of...

    California Cold Start

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgb-T0BcReU I took video of the truck starting this morning, but she started right up with little smoke. I guess it's like taking it to the mechanic and suddenly the problems go away. This was one cycle of the glow plugs and that was it. Will try again...

I will give the hair dryer a try. Hope it helps. Thanks for the advice. It is fun filling the neighborhood with smoke when I start her up for the first time in the morning. Colby

    California Cold Start

With the new chip the glow plugs run longer then the stock setup. The stock would shut off just before the setbelt alarm would say 10-15 seconds. With the new chip the glowplugs stay on about five seconds longer, and once the truck is running they turn on and off two or three times for about two...
