97 4L80E dropping out of TC lock up

So why are you messing with an old MH?

because its fun, and its my first US style MH, so basically a test balloon what i want on my next one. and im already hunting for that. it'll be an other mechanics MH or probably a copart ritchi bros thing i shoot for cheap and then have lots of fun fixing it up.

in the meantime i will have to sell this one.

now when ive got that transmission thing sorted or rebuilt, either way, then its fully operational and upgraded to current house side electric stuff.

so i can clearly show my next owner what ive done, how ive done it and that we traveled 13k miles in 12 weeks and did have some issues and got them fixed properly. so while old, hes getting a reliable thing that has performed for us quite well.

so i can actually sell it either for good dollars or take out my inverter and stuff and sell it for a bit less. thats the starting money for the next right there.

I'm in now about 10k, including the 1k for the registration in Montana, but similar units with questionable maintenance and more miles and worse condition are sold at 25k...

so how fast can you make 15k?

for me that currently equals 12 weeks of holiday right now. over 1k a week, or in other words, It'll pay for most of our holiday costs of 12 weeks for 4 with lots of fun.

so diesel driver, when did you earn your holidays cost during vacation the last time and had lots of fun with your family while doing so?

my wife knows exactly that i don't like to go to museums, look at army bases, how they gloss about killing civilians in WWII, my people, and such. so for my family its recreational stuff and such, while they are out i do fix my RV up or just have a few silent minutes, a rare thing for me.

That's the reason right there why i mess with an old MH.

on an afterthought:

that sounds like a life concept? probably not, cause you need to do it too often to still be considered a private person and not a dealership... but for me, doing it every 24-36 months, that works out.

ive even considered renting it to other German visitors, but as lots of folks will soon discover, holiday in the US will be really cheap this year with all the missing visitors who don't want to put up with being disappeared at the border like that country woman of mine. so not really a business concept anymore.

sure i go from my own choice, but heard a lot of my friends and associates are just doing exactly the same... for me, i even changed my flights, from departure in US to departure out of Canada and straight home... guess what, flights for the same route via the US where half the price... and i just dropped my Delta flight and changed to Lufthansa/Air Canada. Money well spent. after dumping like 6k-8k each year for vacation tickets alone on Delta... that revenue is not going to return any time soon. ive got a miles n. more account, we only flew with Delta because connection thiugh Schiphol Amsterdam, the best for a handicapped passenger, they really got it sorted there

This clutch is only "on" if you select 3, 2, or 1. It's not on in reverse or OD aka 4th. Those who only use "OD" and "R" never use this clutch.

pls enlighten me as to why do you need the overrun clutch activ while you select 1 through 3 but you don't if you are in OD but still drive in those same gears 1 though 3?

i really need to get myself some paperwork for the 4l80e, its to different to the 722.x im used to.
