Old article from 2006 but the claims are all there:

http://legacy.signonsandiego.com/news/business/20060209-9999-1b9biodiesel.html

Injection and heads can't possibly be stock.

But if you read it all, it's a AMG/GEP block.

As a 2006 I'm betting it's an optimizer pre-P400.

Now, Ol' Willie got a "mythical" 700 hp model. Mere mortals got 350 hp.

Wish I could find some under-the-hood pics.....

Kinda gives performance freaks some hope doesn't it?

;)

I bet the engine is a BBC with big compression made to start on alcohol and switch over to diesel. It just so happens that the engine has 6.5 liters of displacement.. Cool truck by any stretch though.

At the power levels that are claimed, we all know the IDI 6.5 diesel would have a tough life.

But I'd like to be wrong!

Yup, been there already.

Dude is a "green" guy.

I'm shaking the tree to see what falls out.

350 hp and 38 mpg would be plenty fine for me!

But, I'm willing to be the injection system is like nothing we've yet seen and the heads are a one-off job. Probably at least 18:1 pistons and lots of boost too.

Translation: expensive and/or unobtainable.

Of course, there's always the possibility his mpg and HP claims are unsubstantiated....

Hmmm....here his is again:

300+ hp and 55mpg with what seems like a stock "hummer" 6.5 engine with his "veggie stuff" on it.

I'm beginning to think his claims are perhaps a little bit ....."inflated".

Not too many stock Hummer 6.5's made 300+ hp, at least to the best of my knowledge not.....

Dude's smokin' wacky tabacky.

Prehaps a little 'too' green.... :hihi:

"Real trucks don't have spark plugs!" Sounds like they made it too complicated...

I'd like to believe every word out of his mouth...but every once in a while some wacko comes out of the woodworks and claims to have invented a new fuel saving device that will change the future. Not sure why they would want to be so bold but they are.

If it works, I will eat my shoes and buy one.
